I like Mystical Power in The Supreme. I think his potential as yet undefined.

Stateman biggest Cert of all Certs.

By:
Yep. I think State Man has the same chance as Constitution Hill had the latter been sound.
|
|
By:
Surely we can do better than putting up the shortest price horse of the day.
I'll go Gala Marceau in the mares currently 28/1. |
|

Regards tactics and Gaelic Warrior in Arkle. Imo they have to lead with it staying and also jumping right. The ideal place to be will be inside near rail in 2nd. GW will lose 10+ lengths imo jumping so has it got that in hand? I also think will be quite a good pace and those from the back who jump well can possibly come through. Although you wont want to be too far behind. Dont often bet each way but its great race for that imo. As you can tell which horses will probably sit back and come through late and at least place (like II Etait Temps)

You're from the '70s, but I'm a '90s bitch

Day one is likely to have 4 out of 7 races with less than 10 runners come Tuesday morning with the ground forecast soft/heavy.
Wonder how long it will take Cheltenham to realise 4 days was the biggest mistake ever - attendance already starting to fall, Mullins dominanc, excentuated by 4 days allowing him to spread his horses out . It wasn't broken! It is now! |

By:
Tullyhill, JPR One, Chianti Classico, Liari. Not interested in the Champion or the mares apart from watching a procession. The NH chase is a non event. Gone are the days of 24 runners over 4 miles and the best 10yo point to pointer winning while some Irish 6yo falls on the first circuit. I did own a 1/12 share in Lucky Bay who finished sixth so at least I have had a very small slice of Festival prize money!

By:
sage, I now consider you to be Festival/Forum aristocracy.

I think Palamon in the Boodles is worth an interest. Who knows if it's the best handicapped but it does look to have been brought along with this race in mind.
|
|
By:
i liked the look of that as well tom, naas run was interesting, i've already had a bit on and might run it up
risky outsider, twig in the ultima won't win but if they could get a place it would be a fitting end to day 1 and would get a great reception, mr vango, gl sara |

Cheers elise, that's good to hear,

Not sure what would change with less races. Surely W. Mullins would have nearly every favourite if they confined it to the Grade 1 races and how many would oppose them? Tullyhill or Mystical Power, Gaelic Warrior, State Man, Lossiemouth, Ballyburn, Fact To File, El Fabiolo, any of 5 in the bumper, Galopin des Champs. Perhaps only the Stayers, Turners and Ryanair would have a favourite he does not train.

By:
Is Gaelic Warrior a 'lay' at odds just over 'evens'? I think the trip and course are against him plus 9 other runners.
|
|
By:
I meant for 2-places.

By:
The Goffer 2.50 [Ultima]
Ran 4th behind Corach rambler and Fastorslow last year off 2lb higher. Elliott will have him ready for this target. |
|
By:
Gaelic Warrior is 3.7 on here so 5/2 or 11/4.
|
|
By:
mr vango has been heavily backed on the rain now, was near 20s yday, value's gone
|
|
By:
some horses with good RPR or TS ratings that are huge prices. Worth a place bet perhaps.
JPR One. Now a place bet price. best on time and 2lb behind Gaelic on RPR. Eldorado Allen. Long in the tooth but still rated right up there with The Goffer and 25/1. Twig. Yet another in the very open Ultima who has the best TS rating and jockey can claim 5lb. 33/1 or bigger. Latin Verse. Joint top rated with Milan Tino. 14/1. Plenty of experience and a similar progression to Mr Freedom last year. |

Nice research sage. Good luck with them.

Being an old boy myself, can't help supporting Not So Sleepy, totally experienced on ground, finishing in the first 4 in Champion Hurdle.
|
|
By:
Against Mystical Power here try and get it shorter. Too much speed?
|
|
By:
Don't give Jeriko Du Reponet anychance, place lay for me as doesn't have the form in the book
|
|
By:
Once again, the idiot starter showing his authority. Muppet!
|
|
By:
Go that spot on
Well done me |
|
By:
Three horses sweated up. Finished first second and the sixth was the first GB horse home. I backed Mystic Power place only and when he went past the stands first time I wrote him off as he looked a total wreck.

Against II Etait Temps here. Jumping?

II Etait Temps did awfully well to grab 3rd

A cool £600,000 around 3.5-3.75

Having been 5.0 earlier today. Then sweated like a dog in the sun and still smashed from 4.0 into 3.0 again.

Meanwhile Hunters Yarn they couldn't have and finished 5th never with a chance of winning.

365 is taking on State Man in the Champion Hurdle. He's 'evens', but max is not stipulated.

Gutted. All year waited for Gaelic Warrior, listened o so may pre-cheltenham nights and left he whole race alone, apart from being in my jackpot. Only thing that could have stopped GW winning was RUBY on top at the last.
This hurts done my conkers on him at Cheltenham the last time. |
