I'm not much of a darts fan, but love Sport . I will cheer this lad on tonight.

He was tipped early in September

I thought Cross was way off his best in the semi. Obviously Barny was as well. He's now meeting someone that can match his treble twenty scoring and will be under more pressure. I will be surprised if he wins and was tempted to oppose but I rarely have much success away from the horses.

Whatever happen tonight, this lad has practised and achieved darts mastery.

Talksport live at littlers fav local kabab shop... Tbf they have been pretty supportive of him, just hedging thar bets.
In two minds myself maybe getting beat will be best thing that happened to him, get a proper trainer, get in shape and make a fortune over next ten years. Seen a few signs in semi he was starting to think about it, will be an intersting final. |
By:
Good luck to whoever laid 1000 for 3p, tonite.
He's 4/1 for spoty 2024. |
By:
Cross averaged 103 with a 40%c/o. Barney had 100av and 40%. They are great numbers. The kid made them both look mediocre.
Gonna be a fantastic game tonight. |

He was tipped early in September https://community.betfair.com/darts/go/thread/view/94054/31815895/luke-littler-and-gian-van-veen#flvWelcomeHeader Think we should all just take a moment to give that OP a well done. If it was similar tip on here would have had 100s of replies. |

Toughest gig will be confirming that this pinnacle event performance isn't a one off or that there isn't more of the same to come....
We all remember Emma Raducanu don't we ? , or maybe we don't ![]() |
By:
Starts at 8.07
How long does the match usually last? Going out at ten Apparently not for a kebab ![]() |
By:
averages don't tell the full story. How many 140's /180's did Cross or Barney hit when they were needed ? ( or at all ) The final result in sets told you how the losers played. Did Barny win even a leg against the throw ? Very few if any.
By:
Lost his throw just the once vs Barney
By:
The draw opened like the red sea for Radacanu every opponent last 16 on had higher court time, she wasn't the best player by a long shot.
Barney is an old man, cross hardly applied the pressure or played any mind games, was meek imo. This opponent doesn't go away and will be a tuff nut to crack, although you could pick holes in him too, but think he is coming onto a game and littler may have peaked already. |
By:
Good point on the darts forum - the crowd could play some part, likely well behind the 16 year old wonder kid here. Not enough on it's own, but it's a factor possibly.

thanks hayden.

Luke Humphries was on radio saying he knows littler, says yea he beat me in a local comp when he was 12 i had already turned pro a few years ago ....
![]() Will be a close game and whoever wants it most wins. |
By:
Could annoy Humphries in his first attempt at a World title, if the crowd are obv against him.
By:
stu overall sure you're right but (fav ) backers might help
By:
The averages might not tell the whole story. They are a pretty good guide though.
We’ve all seen Humphries play at his very best before. We haven’t seen the kid have to break sweat yet. I don’t think anything will phase him while he’s at dart board. He’s an absolute natural. Not seen anything like him since MVG switched sides and became a powerhouse. I don’t mind who wins. I like them both. |
By:
Darts crowd are generally pretty fair, thar for the arrows, want to see a nine darter, loads of 180s and big finishes, they want a proper match, not a one sided job.
Humphries will have more experience of that drink fuelled atmosphere . |
By:
Agree with your Raducanu points breadnbutter
By:
record viewing figs for quarter and semi on sky, sky get a say in who gets in the premier league.
he will be in this. |
By:
What's the bet in the final then lads? Not an expert on darts by any means. Littler is nerveless which is not usual for a young un, but does he have the experience to cope with Humphries is on top form?
By:
The young lad is 2.4 here, with Humphries 1.7
By:
Total 180s
Over 33.5 |
By:
Winning this tournament should get you automatically into the Premier League. Ridiculous that you could have a season without the current world champion in it.
By:
Anyone winning it or getting to the final would get a wildcard.
Though at 16, well 17 when it starts it may not be practical. Looking forward to the final. Think Humphries may have the edge, been on top form recentl and has won big tournies. But at the prices wouldn't bet.# Just a little bet at 3+ 180s each set at 8/1. Could be huge viewing figures for this one. Hopefully its a cracker and good look to both. |
By:
2/5 to get in premier league with Billies
At least we have his birth certificate now to rule out any ringer ![]() https://www.msn.com/en-ca/lifestyle/lifestylegeneral/luke-littlers-birth-certificate-emerges-and-proves-darts-sensations-true-age/ar-AA1mpqWu#image=2 |

Brilliant. Hopefully he will mix it up a bit. It’s become a bit dull of late imo.

Find it all a bit over the top. Media going beserk. Poor guy under way too much pressure.
Kirk Shepherd ....... Who? Kirk Shepherd smashed his way into the 2008 World Darts Final, as an outsider. Much publicity at the time. Crashed in the final with the lowest ever final average. Only won two more matches in the World Championships again, usually going out in the 3rd round. Never got further than the 4th Round in another major tournament. Like it to be different. Hopefully he puts up a decent show tonight, but more importantly performs well for quite a few more years. The other Luke should be too strong tonight. |
By:
* usually going out in the 1st round.
By:
Doesn't feel like a Kirk Sherpherd at all. Feels like an MVG. This kid will be around for the long haul.
By:
Not that i follow darts that closely but a little surprised the lad is the outsider of the two with the books
![]() |
By:
The young lad is not firing on all cylinders (yet); Humphries is confident and consistent.
By:
Yep. Early days yet but he’s not at his best.
By:
A hiding from the World No 1?
By:
Hope the young guy wins it. It is a remarkable achievement to reach the Final but he needs to win it. Nobody remembers runner-ups. Go on Luke, you can do it!
... and I haven`t bet him. |
