Still using safety pins to put name and number on. Some things never change. Big business opportunity for someone to replace that with something more modern. Just print it on the vest!

start is crucial obvs..jackson takes the beating if she flys out although with a better start richardson will go close...price mop up if they fluff the start. |

My tip would be the German in the decathlon.
Moved to the USA, smashed his PB and broke the German record this year to have the WL mark going into the WC. A repeat of that score is probably beyond everyone bar Mayer and Warner. He's humble and outwardly confident. Quoted as saying "I was extremely lucky," says Neugebauer with a smile, "to find the right trainer and the right training group. Going to America was the best decision of my life and I would definitely make it again. During my daily training, I am surrounded by top athletes, so I almost always finish last in races.” "I just feel great. I've been injury free all season and been able to train hard" "I want to show the record wasn't an accident. I also know it can go in the same direction again" He has a progressive profile, with a good break since his last decathlon so he could improve again. Mayer had a hamstring injury in June, and has just come out and said he has an achilles problem and is less than 50% to complete the event. His objective is Paris and he had already said he isn't going to take any risks here so I had the WR holder as a doubtful finisher or competitor anyway, and certainly not near his best. Warner is 33. He is already the oldest global winner of a decathlon at 31 (2 years ago) and has had minor injury issues. Thompson, Sebrle and Dvorak were all finished by their thirties and Eaton had long since retired, so his age is a big issue for me, since you are relying on his Olympic performance, as not met that standard since. Talking big and said training is going "fairly well" Fairly well doesn't sound like a ringing endorsement. If the German can handle the occasion on the 3 pressure events... LJ HJ and PV, then I think he wins. |

Faith Kipyegon
womens 1500m 8:30 currently 1.1..its bar a fall. |
|
By:
Interesting fact about Kipyegon. Her WR in the mile this year equalled the Men's WR from 1933
|
|
By:
CWAD?
|
|
By:
Her 5,000m world record bettered the Men's WR from 1933 by 10 seconds and the current Women's WR for the 10,000m is over 1 minute quicker than the men's WR for 1933. Women's Marathon WR is 14 minutes faster. That's faster than any man before 1964.
