Sorry Hibby for delayed response , just got up.
Didn't get to bed until 6am , my passion is Ice Hockey and stayed up for both live play off games last night. At face value 1.78 could be determined as a bit generous but when you hit the high ranking numbers around the triple digits mark the number difference becomes an awful less relevant in both WTA and ATP. AK currently around 90 places higher ranking than DY but if they were say 20 vs 110 the margin is far more significantly reflected in the market. Market probably also recognises DY has threatened the top 20 rankings in the past and now looks in resurgence mode despite the 158 ranking , so a tad wary. Head to head is 2-2 but too far back really to consider as a criteria , that said you could argue that clay court marginally suits DY in current mode. Not sure any of the above is any use Hibby and you would know all that anyway being an avid follower but worth mentioning that personally i NEVER EVER play Tennis matches before the start and always in-play , i've a Tennis list of around 30-40 players i trade in-play at low prices based on behaviour , body language , historical swings and generally players that can't get close to performing consistently for a long enough period of time during a match , hence severe market volatility far more likely in recognised players compared to players that offer more consistency. Neither AK nor DY are on my list. Best of luck mate , i'll follow match with interest ![]() |

cheers for that response Hayden...
i saw Yastremska play Bouchard in Madrid and she was awful... an absolute shadow of the player she was pre-covid... i also saw Kalinskaya in Madrid and she looked good in beating Rybakina and even when she got beat she still played well... i might be way off the mark here but time will tell i suppose... makes the afternoon a bit more interesting at least. |
|
By:
btw Hayden...
Andy Murray around 1-2 to beat Fognini on CLAY ? looks very short to me... what do you reckon ? |
|
By:
I gave up trying to predict what Fognini was going to do next years ago Hib , he's on my list.
Foggy's been a clay court warrior over the years just short of the top echelon and he must be near late thirties now , that said Murray can still not be guaranteed to play two consecutive matches at the same level especially on the red stuff. Agree though a tough call that one. |
|
By:
think it's a good game to watch tbh Hayden..
should be a good atmosphere... certainly wouldn't have had Murray around 1.5 myself... could be a bit of a grind tbh. |
|
By:
I understand watching those girls recently how you can hit on a perceived bet but personally when you get a match up of 62 vs 158 the recent form is a bit of a lottery , the struggle for men and women outside the top 20 is stringing two matches together at a similar level and that's why they don't win tournaments and indeed why they can reach the QF one week then be eliminated in R1 the following week.
Just personal views these and sure plenty will disagree. |
|
By:
i agree the inconsistency is a major factor Hayden...
but even the top players go down that road from time to time... i just couldn't believe how poor Yastremska looked in Madrid and i was surprised at the level of Kalinskya when she played the two games i saw her play... as i say i'm probably miles off here... but you can only say what you see i suppose. |
|
By:
bail out time here Hayden (Kalinskaya a break up in the first set)...
looks like anything could happen here and there is zero atmosphere on one of those outside courts. |
|
By:
Don't mention that wee Greek lassie to me Hibby. Sick of backing her but would do again. What's her name again please?
|
|
By:
Sakkari stewart...
she's just lacking the killer touch when it comes to the latter stages of big events imv... she's good to watch tho. |
|
By:
Good stuff Hibby , nice call
Had a kip last couple of hours as up until 6am for the play offs later. |
|
By:
That's her Hibby. Have to back her in the French Open. 38 to back, 65 to lay at present. Would be rude of me not to have a nifty on.
Or maybe more with the chance of trading out. |
|
By:
Hibby, PM soon.
|
|
By:
cheers Hayden...
Yastremska started badly and (if anything) got progressively worse... Kalinskaya started badly and got slightly better... a poor game tho... the Fognini game was good to watch tho. |
|
By:
stewart...
it's a fair strategy... don't let it go all the way tho.. if she gets to last 8 or last 4 then that would be time to take a profit imv... mind you it all depends on the draw... there are plenty good players out there imv... very few 'freebies' in womens tennis imv. |

Hayden...
got Osorio v Martic down as my game of the day today. |
|
By:
Pella v Cressy...
just before the game starts a 30k chunk comes in to back Pella at 1.96... interesting. |
|
By:
Yes decent chunk matched at 1.86 in the end so someone wanted it , so far so good for them and judging by the numbers matched they may well be level green by now.
Only just logged on , only 4 hours sleep and had to go for an ECG. |
|
By:
money seems to have spoken there Hayden...
Potapova v Cocciaretto could be a fiery one tbh... should be a decent watch... 4 hours ain't enough in anyone's book... if i don't get 6 hours i'm a zombie for the rest of the day tbh. |
|
By:
Interesting match you've picked with no head to head , Osorio has played a lot of court time lately and looks more comfortable on clay but that hip injury could return at any time , looks a tough call.
|
|
By:
i always think with Martic she is a solid 8 out of 10 every match Hayden...
Osorio would be more volatile imv... if my life depended on it i'd go for Martic tbh... an interesting game tho. |
|
By:
Pella wins 2.0...
well done the 30k lump job man. |
|
By:
Days like today is when my syndicate comes in handy , Goffin on my list and opponent hit 1.06 earlier before flip flopping , was a set & 4-2 up but Goffin is a proven fluctuating nutcase.
Without help i'd find trading the list 100% to be impossible as the tennis day is or can be so long , need my American Sports fix through the night but everyone has to sleep sometime. |
|
By:
trying to keep up with tennis at early stages of tournaments especially is a nightmare Hayden...
it's one of the annoying things about tennis imv.. game due 'not before 15:30' ends up starting at 20:30... difficult to keep up with at times. |
|
By:
Luckily i'm only interested in very few sports so that helps a lot , horse racing is about place overbroke for me so it's easy to set set up times for the very few races i'm interested in plus the odd low grade handicap that you can guess the handbrake will eventually be released , love the American Sports for very low lays and find it hard to sleep after midnight when i know i'm missing something across the pond , no interest in soccer at all so at least my evenings are pretty free some of the time.
Also the Cricket is traded very similar to the Tennis especially T20 and ODI stuff but never lay bigger than 1.25 in any live event and keep a % risk back for the very low lays to take full advantage nearing a flip flop. |
|
By:
way too hard for me to keep on top of things for in running purposes Hayden...
which is why i'd be more of a pre-match backer/layer if it wasn't for in running horse racing... and with that finishing very soon for me then it's something i was looking at but in all honesty i think it would be hard to make any sort of decent profit so i think i will just end up taking my money and running... i'm normally not bad at picking poor prices on the football and lassies tennis but that's about it really... and when i say 'not bad' i mean i'd probably end up about level over a period of time which is no good to anyone at the end of the day. |
|
By:
Potapova game looks like it's bubbling up in to a good watch Hayden.
|
|
By:
Yes the 1.01 drifted back out to 1.3 so not far away from a bumper trade
|
|
By:
crowd got involved...
Potapova responded... boo'd off at the end... a good game that Hayden... Osorio v Martic now. |
|
By:
changed over to the Kenin v Sabalenka game tbh...
interesting start Hayden. |
|
By:
Martic 1.19 out to 12 now , unreal these fluctuations especially in the WTA
|
|
By:
she was a break up when i switched to Sabalenka match tbh...
i see she is now a set down and struggling in set 2... it can be very volatile very quickly right enough Hayden. |
|
By:
Another good delivery in the Sabalenka match , 1.09 out to 4.40
|
|
By:
aye...
watched it Hayden... good game tbh... Kenin showed form from nowhere last night. |
|
By:
Trevisan 3.1 v Muchova 1.46...
much closer than that imv... you've gottop back Trevisan or lay Muchova at those prices Hayden... more of a 2.2 v 1.8 match imv. |
|
By:
Just logged on Hib after yet another very late Ice Hockey night.
Good luck mate will follow with interest , none of them on my list ( yet ) ![]() |
|
By:
oh God...
no idea how you do it Hayden... cheers for that... couldn't agree with that betting whatsoever tbh... no idea what it is based on... probably head to head stats or something... Muchova was 66% before it started which kind of ties in with the betting tbh. |
|
By:
HTH is Muchova 2-0 but both on fast courts so no significance there , 34 spots between rankings vs those initial odds mean you've got a fair bet with a chance no doubt , with no obvious reason for the discrepancy.
Nice looking in-play graph with plenty of ups and downs. |
|
By:
aye it is now 50% v 50% Hayden...
well it was just before Trevisan broke so i presume Trevisan is now over 50%... either way it's a good game to watch. |
