Although there wasn't a message about an upgrade, there was a couple of threads yesterday about the hide balance disappearing, which suggests that they were tinkering with the exchange. From past experiences when they have did any type of upgrade, invariably a crash has occurred.

The reason people get mad is because , if a bank goes down , you can do the same transaction hours later, with no penalty. But in sports betting the event has happened ,consequently some people will be out if pocket purely because of the outage. It doesn't improve peoples mood the poor way Betfair deals with problems either. Customer relations staff seem to be trained at the same place Ryanair's are !

Same here Platini, Latalomne.
Sure its because of PC, had loads similar emails probably sent in error since I've been paying it. |
By:
Just realised it's actually been added to my balance rather than as a free bet, as implied by the email (a whole £5).

I got an email saying that I had been given a free exchange bet. When I checked my account I couldn't find it, but I saw that £2.00 had been credited to my account. I assume that I couldn't have been eligible for the free bet because I am on the basic 2% commission. But it would have been easy for Betfair to do nothing, so I appreciate this gesture.

I was at Beverley when the crash occurred and trying to back Dogged in the 15:51 for 4 places at around 2.08. Was betting in my usual fashion of putting on my £100 in in 3 or 4 chunks and had managed £30 when the site went down.
Tried to switch to the other exchange but reception for that one is often poor at Beverley and I suspect their site was seeing a hit from those trying to do the same as me. Couldn't get logged in properly and then the race was off. Dogged came 4th and so the crash cost me around £75 odd in profit. But today I got the apology and £2 from BF! At least they have done something this time but I've been a user since 2001 and bet on the site at least 3 days a week when I am racing with bets from £50 upwards per race. So, £2 feels a bit bl**dy tight! Perhaps it is because I am, as you might suspect, on the 2% comm rate or perhaps they have just got no idea!!! But, at least it is something. Although should we be thanking them and expressing gratitude for what is standard practise at lots of big outfits when they suffer service failures? Be much better if they just fixed their repeated issues. |
By:
in fairness its hardly in their interests to have issues.
By:
My statement shows the 10er credit, then the PC taken out that dwarfs it
By:
how do you find out if its been added to your balance ?
Is there an adjustments sections where its all laid out (same as with other bookies) ? |
By:
I spotted mine on my statement
By:
Yep I was given an Airton
Always winds me up that they let you know none of the rest of their products down when the exchange goes down...SPLASH! |
By:
@platini
"how do you find out if its been added to your balance" look at your account statement? |

By:
it's compensation based on the size of your penis, the more money they give you the sorrier they feel for you , 50 is the max and to get that you need to be retractile, supposedly
By:
they've asked me to pay a tenner to them ...
