Could be close. The Aintree meeting could be a factor if Hughes misses it but main stable form is way in favour of Skelton. Hughes does seem to go anywhere for the easy win than the bigger prize at the mo. Fascinating finish.

Have you had a punt on him?
If not why not United? |
By:
Six rides tomorrow at Carlisle for six different trainers. I don't see how team Skelton can compete with that.
By:
I do not disagree UTD so why not punt him?
By:
No I haven't Glentoby because I have only just checked the standings, and only put up the thread because I couldn't figure out why the odds are as they are. What am I missing? Is Hughes on the cusp of a ban or something?
By:
Because I don't back 13/8 shots a month in advance. It's not a bragging rights thread (I could care less) it's a please explain thread.
By:
I'm going to have a multi on Hughes' rides tomoz though, and I'll mix in Skelton's three also.

Because I don't back 13/8 shots a month in advance. would you take 13/8 xmas day is 25th dec? |
By:
Its a good question, there must be a reason why, until recently Skelton didn't get many outside rides, will these stables now help him to the title.
Hughes seems to get rides from most of the northern stables. Injury aside it looks like going to the wire. |
By:
That is my point utd,at 13/8 he is huge value, more so than when well ahead, you are the one who highlighted it and answered your own question?
Barring a ban or a fall,he is massive value imvho. |
By:
8 weeks ago Hughes led Skelton by 21. So clearly all momentum with Skelton. Odds of 1-2 Skelton 6-4 Hughes at this moment appear correct. Could literally go to the last day. Or even last race! 3 weeks left.

By:
Ok, thank you.
I can't find a link to the mkt on Oddschecker, slickster mentioned 6/4? |
By:
lot of the horses skelton's winning for his bro absolutely anyone would win on, stones in hand. possibly lining up plenty more for him.
By:
7/4 w hill
By:
Thanks Kavvie

Judging by tomorrow's rides Hughes could easily be 3 ahead at close of play. Best odds I can see are 1-2 7-4 25 Cobden. He's 13 behind so you would be expecting 250s not 25s.
By:
134 - 131 in Hughes's favour. 4-6 Skelton 5-4 Hughes. Only a couple of mounts for Hughes next 2 days. Skelton has many more. Should be about level after Tuesday.
By:
Hughes is HUGE value imvho. But Uniteds 13/8 is not going to be seen again...........or IOY suddenly 7/2?
By:
Hughes has one chance , that’s if Skelton gets injured .
By:
all a bit of a joke really, skeltons wouldnt normally be within 200 miles of plumpton on an easter monday today they have 5 favs and a 2nd fav
By:
decent day for hughesy only giving up one to 5 shorties for arry
By:
Brilliant winning ride by Harry in the 1st. Dog of war. Hughes 134. Skeleton 133. 4-9 Harry 13-8 Brian.
By:
nice treble at sedgy for hughes
well played sir |
By:
The bloke cleans up in the north 1st time..
By:
not had it all his own way this season up naarth
By:
That just shows how ordinary he is when he’s not had it all his own way up north . The rest of the jockeys up there are drunk drivers , some of them should be in a circus . If Cobden or Skelton rode every day in the north they’d ride 400 winners a year . Adrian heskin would nearly be champion jockey if he rode up there every day
By:
Another splendid observation from the man who hates jockeys, Uncle Robe thrown out of every yard he ever worked in , now doing a splendid job as a car park attendant , Noel said he doffed his cap to him as he helped him into his spot in Fairyhouse on Monday .
By:
I never worked in a stable shovelling shhit unlike your good self . That’s about all you’d be fit for anyway , seeings as you had no education .
By:
Cobden & Frost look as though they're probably out for the rest of the season, probably seals it for Skelton as Nicholls will surely give him some help now?
By:
This race has been over barring an accident with months . Skelton won’t need any help from nicholls , in fact I’d say he’d prefer if nicholls had nothing to do with him winning the title . Skelton needs to stay injury free for the remainder of the duration, if that happens then there is absolutely no betting in the wide earthly world , in fact it won’t even be close .
By:
1 to 3 and you new it wasnt winning before the off
wouldnt you love just for once to be in the no |

Ends Saturday 24th April. 137 Hughes 136 Skelton. Guts of 4-9 Skelton 7-4 Hughes. Harry has Huntingdon to himself Monday. Both at Southwell Tuesday.
By:
The day the knife was twisted by Harry. We are now 139 - 137 in Skelton's favour.
By:
141 Skelton 138 Hughes. 1-6 4.
By:
Skelton will get a few rides from Nicholls with Cobden out for 6 weeks and a few other trainers are giving him rides who would not normally. Only injury can stop him now.
By:
to be fair 2 quality rides from hughes today
By:
141 - 139 to Skelton. Just over a week to go. Hughes clinging on.
By:
Next 2 days could make a big difference as they are riding in the same races at Ayr and Bangor.

50/50
Great contest. |
