The point is that there are safeguards and advice, and the principle of banking not being obliged to refund was my point. Just saying you will get vocal wont do much if they say they advised to and you didnt listen.
Im sure I couldnt give a damn if you get cleaned out |

You dont need internet access to use the 2 step app, howard (if thats what you mean)

Anyhow lets hope the day doesn't come, but re Harry on the other thread,if his account shows he's never bet in the middle of the night or on cricket surely he would have a case? obviously no idea whether that is the case.

My smartphone is good enough but the signal is only good enough for phone calls not internet Get verification codes with Google Authenticator If you set up 2-Step Verification, you can use the Google Authenticator app to receive codes. You can still receive codes without internet connection or mobile service. |

its a tenuous defence ribero, and you'd be at the discretion of bf

I always started my day with yahoo for the news, then they suddenly wanted me to register with them, now I won't go there. It amazes me how online vendors won't take your business if you won't register an a/c with them, yes I get why they want you to have an a/c but how much trade are they turning away? I wonder.
Interestingly, I tried to e-mail my local food-bank and it failed because of my internet supplier. Their e-mail address was blah blah blah @yahoo. |
|
By:
Yes i get that but would like to think BF would look upon it favourably otherwise you could argue the site is like the wild west and maybe they shouldn't allow you to have an account unless you do this google thing, also why can't they provide you with the security you need for us simpletons?
|
|
By:
yahoo have been cleaned out several times, as have all customers of talk talk around 3 times

To be honest, my internet is probably on borrowed time anyway. My gear is old and I don't know how many more times I'll be willing to call a pc-doc out at £100 a visit.

As I have said above, unless bf declare they have been hacked, then they havnt because they will get a massive fine if they dont declare it.
They have provided a robust method to safeguard your account....but a number of people arnt taking notice. |

2-step authentication is astonishingly fast and easy. It just takes a lot of words to explain.
Plus, being old and on your own with no one to help you is actually an advantage. It means that once you've done it you can click that your device is trusted and just carry on as normal in the future. But with the knowledge that no one can access your account from another device. |
|
By:
I shall just keep it small and when it's gone it's gone.
|
|
By:
ribero1 - they HAVE supplied security for simpletons. I know this to be true, because I use it myself. It's 2-step authentication. It honestly couldn't be simpler and still be effective.
|
|
By:
Well till this thread came up i'd never heard of this google thing and certainly can't recall any emails from BF advising me use it or to suggest your normal passwords and usernames were not sufficient.

I may be wrong but if you’ve got any sort of iPhone no matter how old
Use iTunes, download google Authenticator, once it’s downloaded instructions are on one of the security tabs on here. Do not let scum like this win. |

It works via the innards of your phone. You don't need an internet connection or a mobile service or a pigeon to access your photos, do you? |

I don't have any photos screaming ( never taken one on a phone )

IF there is Betfair insider involvement, they would choose to target those without 2-step authentication.
|
|
By:
there is also an option that if you cannot access your phone, you can have codes written down and then used as needed

|
By:
howard the authenticator is synced with your account the moment you enter the code provided by betfair - it is like identical twins giving the same new code every thirty seconds - one with betfair and one on your phone.
