either way the point I'm trying to make is this a great bet.
Only if DT wins, but he won't ............ so it isn't. |
|
By:
It's not a great bet because there is no evidence of fraud whatsoever. Stuff you think it a 'smoking gun' is incredibly flimsy stuff that gets kicked out of court at the first stage, because it actually is a crime to lie under oath, as opposed to in what is basically a press conference at a hotel. Sworn affidavits mean nothing. Giuliani himself said it wasn't a fraud case. They're all grifters and you're falling for it hook, line and sinker.
Trump is 1-38 in court cases post-election. He's approved the transition, because he knows it's over. 'The Kraken' is a rehash of numerous debunked conspiracy theories and will likely never make it to a court. The statistical analysis you linked is nothing of the sort. It's just a load of conjecture based mostly off an outlier poll and, comically, who people thought their neighbour was voting for! Nonetheless, statistical analysis of this election is deeply flawed because you aren't comparing like with like because there has never been a candidate that was as hated as Trump. |

Newmarket, how did Betfair get it wrong.
They do not make the market, it’s the punters who make the market, so if anyone on here got it wrong it’s them. However, the market shows Biden @ 1.04 and they’ve got it right. |

Actually the Trump legal team have only filed a handful of lawsuits....3 at the last count.
The rest are from random members of the public. From Monday things will ramp up with Georgia/ Sidney Powell being the most eagerly awaited...talk is cheap as they say and she’s talked a lot...personally would be amazed if we get something in Georgia next week because that particular case should really take 6 months to a year to put together and they’re trying to do it on very short notice. Nevada doesn’t get a mention but is interesting. Well I found it so when looking at today. 160k votes tossed out from local elections in Clark County due to clear evidence of fraud but deemed acceptable for use in the main election. Not sure how that works but there you go. |

ELG, you're a highly respected reader of racing and particularly international racing, but the above is just pure fantasy garbage. its a recount of 153k votes cos there were issues with 139 votes and given the margin of victory, their could be a recount. to say 153k votes have been thrown out is making you look as stupid as some of the hicks on here |
|
By:
Totally agree. ELG sounds right on the precipice of nutterdom. Shame for a good long-term poster.

ELG you do yourself no favours spouting this nonsense. Get a grip you still have credibility for your footie/horse knowledge; don't throw it away.

Trump's just lost an appeal over Pennsylvania.
“Charges require specific allegations and then proof. We have neither here,” wrote Judge Bibas, who was nominated by Trump. The case could still be appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court. https://uk.reuters.com/article/uk-usa-election-lawsuit-pennsylvania/u-s-federal-appeals-court-rejects-trump-campaigns-pennsylvania-election-case-idUKKBN2872BA |

Betfair has updated its guess-the-settlement-date statement to be "probably" 14 December (when the elctoral college does its stuff).
https://betting.betfair.com/politics/us-politics/us-election-betfair-market-settlement-latest-051120-204.html Update on settlement of the US election markets on the Betfair Exchange (dated Friday, 27th November, [17:00]) We have not settled certain markets on the Betfair Exchange relating to the U.S. election because of the uncertainty about the outcome of the results caused by ongoing recounts and potential legal challenges. Given our responsibility to both backers and layers to ensure that the markets are settled correctly and given the unprecedented amount of money that has been traded on these markets, we have sought advice from leading U.S. lawyers to determine the appropriate time to settle the markets. We currently anticipate that we will wait until the outcome of the Electoral College votes on 14 December 2020 is known before we settle the markets. This, of course, assumes that there is no conclusive outcome before this date. The Exchange was briefly suspended at [17:00] this afternoon (Nov 27) to clear unmatched bets. It has now reopened for customers to trade their positions. |

Charlton2005 ... I've never understood why people cant just debate instead of resorting to personal abuse. If you had anything intelligent to say all you had to do was go .... I disagree with you because of point A,B,C. However all you can do is call me stupid and a loser. All this does is just show everyone your true character.
You seem to have fundamentally missed my whole point which is that at 20/1 its a good value bet in IMO. Why was that hard to grasp? Anyhow please dont reply as I'm not going to engage with someone who is clearly angry, negative & vindictive. |

Told you ... Dec 14th
Makes perfect sense. |

You based your "value" decision on a load of complete nonsense that you apparently believe, hence the label of idiot.

Told you ... Dec 14th Makes perfect sense. How does it make sense when that's not what the rules say? |
|
By:
Whether or not it makes sense, unless you are planning to sue Betfair, it is academic that they have, in effect, changed the rules completely. This is the new reality. 14th December. 17 days to go!
|
|
By:
|
|
By:
@Sergeant Cecil. No-one will sue. They'll huff and they'll puff and they'll either cash out now or wait another two and a half weeks.
Betfair is not saying they will settle the football match on yellow cards, but that it will still settle on goals scored but not for a month in case Liverpool complains about a bad VAR call. Yes, it's appalling but what can you do? Make a mental note to use bookmakers next time you bet on politics. This is not the first political market Betfair has screwed up. But will we remember that in four years time? |
|
By:
If Betfair "have changed the rules completely" then that will be a matter for the courts. Do you think the person who placed £1m on Biden is going to say "ah, fair enough" even though he's already won according to the rules when he struck the bet?
You cannot change the rules of a betting market once it has started. Projected winner in US election parlance is well understood to mean by the media networks and Betfair have a precedent for this as they've settled on these in the past. Any lawyer worth their salt would be able to argue this. |

So how many High Street bookmakers or their on-line associates, have paid out on this election so far.
|
|
By:
@RothmanMike -- "So how many High Street bookmakers or their on-line associates, have paid out on this election so far."
All of them, so far as I know. At least, all my bets have been paid (four books) and I've not heard of any still waiting, except in the minor markets. |
|

Dave1357 - I was the idiot that bet on Trump winning in 2016, bet on him winning in 2020 and cashed out around 4am when he was 1.30, the same idiot that bet on Brexit at between 3/1 & 6/1, the same idiot that bet on a Tory landslide in 2019. The same idiot that bets against what the biased media & the polls say. The same idiot that bets against people like you.
Your message will not age well. They rarely do with obtuse obnoxious know it alls. |

PA state court Judge has issued a preliminary injunction preventing any further steps to perfect its certification of the election, including the appointment of electors, pending further court hearings and rulings.
*** Sweating yet Andrew? Dave? This is how Trump wins. He needs to get Biden below 270 electors and then take it to the House where he will win as he has more delegates per state. PA legislature could chose to appoint no electors. The others could do the same. The legislatures have the final say and most of them are controlled by Republicans. I thought it would go to the Supreme Court but it looks like Trump's strategy is to do it this way... |

A recount in Wisconsin’s largest county demanded by President Donald Trump’s election campaign ended on Friday with the president-elect, Joe Biden, gaining votes.
After the recount in Milwaukee county, Biden made a net gain of 132 votes, out of nearly 460,000 cast. Overall, the Democrat gained 257 votes to Trump’s 125. Trump’s campaign had demanded recounts in two of Wisconsin’s most populous and Democratic-leaning counties, after he lost Wisconsin to Biden by more than 20,000 votes. The two recounts will cost the Trump campaign $3m. Dane county is expected to finish its recount on Sunday. Overall, Biden won November’s US presidential election with 306 electoral college votes to Trump’s 232. Biden also leads by more than 6m in the popular vote tally. |
