He is going to pressure lawmakers to not certify or send no electors.

Punts

No he isn't.

US President-elect Joe Biden's narrow victory in Georgia has been officially certified by Republican Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger. It comes as legal efforts by Donald Trump's allies to challenge his defeat were dismissed in three other states.

The Democrat beat his Republican rival in Georgia by 12,670 votes, according to the audit required by state law.

Mr Raffensperger on Friday said he was disappointed that his party lost but that "numbers don't lie".

He's going to Georgia to support Republican candidates in the senate run-off.

Mostly it is procedural and in no doubt but this time it is contested.

In reality this thread is proof positive that few of the opinions reflect ANY actual financial involvement in this particular market?

A refusal by some to accept that BF have chosen to interpret their own rules as they see fit and a refusal of of Trump backers that they have lost their bet regardless of the main evidence of a **** vote resting solely at BF towers?

991/1 would not be value for Trump let alone less than 20s,he is gone, finnish as much as AIS is in Stalkholm (sic) or London on Christmas Eve via Continental Europe?

Toby, you really make yourself look a right tool on here sometimes, although reading some of your posts that doesn't appear to be so difficult. You purport to have a CV that would make James Bond look like a boy scout, and your assertion you can determine whereabouts of posters on this forum is laughable. If you could you would know i'm actually west of München at this very moment.

Sweden on Friday 11th, back to Germany on 14th. London on Thursday 24th, back to Germany 28th. There are several posters on here that have my postal addresses and telephone/WhatsApp numbers including one you speak to on here.

Personally i don't care what you think anyway, why would i, you're an anonymous fantasist that can't have a sensible discussion unless the person totally agrees with you.

(1) none
(2) none at all

cos for that to happen, biden has to lose 35 million votes

a free g waiting for someone at 40s. i think i am full up, although would go again at 26s if anyone is stupid enough.

glentoby put your money where your mouth is and go all in on Biden at 1.04. Risk at least 10k to win 400, free money.

However, I'm surprised that the popular vote winner is at 1.03 instead of 1.01 or 1.0. They would have to redo the whole election or something, don't know if that's even possible.
By:

1.03 popular vote win gives you nothing over the other bets available at slightly longer prices. It is not as if Betfair will settle any earlier (even if they could have done three weeks back) and they might even take longer!

One that does give you an advantage with no downside risk is the winning party market: 1.05 Democrats (compared to 1.04 Biden). Still just over a fortnight before settlement.
By:
dave1357
When: 29 Nov 20 10:53
Ramruma, the winning party market can in theory never be settled due to this in the rules

If any doubt exists as to the outcome of the election, then this market will be settled on the official public announcement of the election result from the Federal Election Commission.

Presumably, at least from a philosophical standpoint, doubt will always exist. The FEC will simply never make a statement as they only deal with election funding and, in any case, have been hobbled by trump and don't have a quorum.

Thanks, @dave1357. That's that then. Yet another example of Betfair plucking market rules out of thin air.

In practice, there will not be any doubt but yes there is that infinitesimal risk.

The amounts gambled do appear to be eye watering, but I would imagine there has been a massive amount of trading going on. The betting has varied between 1.04 and 1.08 for ages so you could make hundreds with no risk.
By:
Charlton2005

the one bet with no downside risk is the >61% in the market for trumps popular vote. 1.025 (but has been 1.04 this week).

the market will be settled based on what CNN say the result is Grin

unrelated to the actual politics but mirroring the lack of any kind of "science" from the rep side, we currently have trump to get >49.5% of vote at 29/1 and to get >61% at 28/1. hicks everywhere!

The State Legislators have the power under the 12th Amendment of the US Constitution. If they think there has been widespread fraud then they dont have to certify the election. There is nothing judges, Governors can do. It only takes 2 or 3 of the disputed States to do this and then Biden cannot get 270 electoral votes.
What happens next is all the 50 State Legislators each have 1 vote. Trump has 31 Republican States. He then wins.
I repeat Trump is not a 20/1 shot here. I'd say more like 5/1 or less.

WISCONSIN - This is the really interesting State and one I'm convinced will fall to Trump. This State has really strict rules for Mail In Ballots. The voter has to send a written request to receive a ballot. The recent audit revealed 221,000 more ballots then written requests received. This is now in Federal Court. I cannot see how these ballots dont get thrown out.
Trump is 15/1 to win Wisconsin. I'd say he is odds on!

My advice is to ignore everything the pathological liars in the media are telling you.

I agree newmarket, good value on Trump. 80% of people believe the election was stolen and Trump is still confident he will win.

This election is the equivalent of a 1000/1 horse winning by 5 lengths and the trainer saying "well, I guess I just trained him well".

a) you incorrectly stated that the legislators could certify

b) We've been through this before, most have delegated that authority and it would be illegal for them to send anyone but the certified winners and the SCOTUS has confirmed that state laws in this regard are not unconstitutional.

It happened in 1876. In fact, that election dragged on well into January and they cut deals and decided who would be in the administration etc.

So even the deadlines can be put back. Nothing is done until its done.
By:

When: 02 Dec 20 17:52
so you say that a legislature that had passed a law that stated they would send the electors of the certified winner, ignored that law?

Dave: You have been told to read the constitution and it says legislators have the FINAL SAY who appoint Electors.

Not the Sec of State. Not the Governor. Not the Judges, not even Supreme Court.

It says Legislatures.

Instead of moaning just wait until Dec 14th.  Not long now. Then you can either collect or nurse your losses
