This is great. Discussion of races rather than idiots attacking one another! Let's keep this up on the forum!

When are the airports open For uk travellers?

So SS, you would be happy to return to a crowded football ground or restaurant? Each to his own. No way would I do that without a reliable vaccine. ever.

According to Oddschecker Coral have now priced Helter Skelter up for the prix-dharcourt at 9/2, as far as I can see they have priced up a horse that doesn't even have an entry to the race? Both Coral and Ladbroakes have even have Enable at 6/1 for the same race?? Cowboys. The generally 4/6 fav Scotsass is priced up by both of them at 16/1.
Something gone badly wrong with their pricing systems. |
|
By:
More than likely its Oddschecker gone nuts Tiger, a quick look shows them having Vic Ludorum and Scotsss both at 4/7 and both in the race that you mentioned. Oddschecker need to sort themselves out.
|

id say lads and corals got mixed up between races.. sootass 4/7 for dharcourt and helter 9/2 for the g3 for 3 rd olds.

First race on Monday is as early as 09.55 with the next race up a Group Race at 10.25, nice early start.

Narrowly escaped being cancelled yesterday. Football bosses lobbied Macron to stop racing until other sport was allowed to start. Only a last minute meeting turned it back racing's way.
|

They might as well open the bookmakers with a cue system like the rest of the towns etc, they could have got some greyhound racing on with hindsight, small steps.

Don't forget that Football is run by billionaires. They will pull every trick in the book to get their own way.

By:
where can we get a form guide for this meeting online? thank you
|
|
By:
It probably wont but if it did all go t1ts up and it delays other sports, like football from starting, then I guess they do have a right to challenge it. After all it could be seen as a stuff you we are okay scenario if you look at it from their side.

Foyles, both the Racing Post and At The Races have cards up for Longchamp, with form.

Any where I can watch Compiegne tomorrow?

How can one equate horse racing with football? The latter is a contact sport thro' and thro', the former is not. Imagine two opposing football players eg an attacker against a defender maintaining social distance throughout; a gift to punters, and players like Ronaldo and Messi making a mockery of the game, and eventual result.
The head honchos of French football clearly showed their intelligence in their protestation against the commencement of horse racing in France. |

FatPunt, not 100% sure but you may be able to watch it via the pmu here:

Who is comparing them ?
What I said and imo what they are saying, that opening back up now, if things do go wrong, will push back the starting of other sports. Not saying they are correct but was replying to a post that said they were being petty, because they were objecting. |
|
By:
^^
I was not replying to your post, just cannot understand the logic of the French football head honchos; envy and un-sportsmanship. |
|
By:
My apologies,
I guess they see racing as a sport and should be treated as a sport. Hopefully everything goes okay and we dont here of any covid cases. |
|
By:
Thanks Tiger, I'll give it a try.
|
|
By:
even though this is a horse racing forum some on here really
do not like the idea of racing happening anytime soon anywhere in the world..really peculiar |
|
By:
maybe some on these forums are more interested in arguments and personal attacks than betting on horses.seems that way to me .

Tiger Tiger 05 May 20 21:24
Emailed betfair to ask if they were covering this meeting and any others, reply is: We have been informed that we will be offering French racing from next week. We will be definitely be offering Longchamp on the 11th of May and Saint-Cloud on the 12th of May. Other races will be confirmed closer to date. When Betfair say they are covering it do they mean on both Sportsbook and the Exchange? |
|
By:
it will be both sparrow
|
|
By:
I only asked about the Exchange, both Longchamp and Compiegne are on the exchange tomorrow.
|
|
By:
Thanks, Elise and Tiger.
|
|
By:
All four meetings are on Sportsbook.
|
|
By:

‘Early start tomorrow, 1st race 9.55‘
Clearly with a 10-race card an early start is understandable. But what’s the thinking behind a mid-afternoon (2:30) finish? |
