Royal Ascot will never race behind closed doors hence the shorter price than May 1st

How many people in the population have not had it yet, that's the most important figure they need to establish.

If that figure is way bigger than first thought and we open the doors too soon it would be carnage all over again.

Royal Ascot to race behind closed doors is simply the pre-cursor to Royal Ascot cancelled.

If countries such as Denmark or Austria which are both far nearer slightly easing restrictions than we are won't countenance even small public gatherings until the summer then there is next to no chance racing behind closed doors or not will go ahead here on May 1st, none whatsoever.

Sweden have the right plan in place for dealing with this virus. Advising the elderly and those in "at risk" categories to self isolate, schools kept open because the virus poses minimal risk to children and people keeping a good standard of hygiene (which should always be the case, virus or no virus) Just good common sense which trumps hysteria everyday of the week! There is also a theory (from well respected scientists) that lock downs can prolong the length of time the virus last for.

97% of Sweden is uninhabited. So that blows that argument out of the water.

isleham, FYI the majority voted to stay part of the UK, Edinburgh festival was cancelled because people come from everywhere to see it. hotels need to be booked, there are none open. its like the open and Wimbledon nothing more, nothing less and nothing to do with the lockdown lasting till then

Denmark-5071 cases..203 deaths  population 5.6 million

Norway-5903  cases...89 deaths  population 5.3 million

Sweden-7857  cases...611 deaths population  10.2 million

Whippin..your argument regarding Sweden having the right plan, does not make sense considering Denmark & Norway are doing
the opposite to Sweden.

The government has confirmed that lockdown will not be lifted any time soon, - meaning it will continue beyond the first three week period.

The worst thing the UK could do would be to “take its foot off the pedal” said Dominic Raab this evening, while he is deputising for Boris Johnson while the PM is in intensive care.

It was too early to lift the current tight restrictions, banning Brits from going outside for any reason other than essential trips and exercise.

The lockdown period was first announced on March 23, at the time Mr Johnson said the strict measures would be reviewed after three weeks - meaning it could have been lifted at the start of next week.

said ages ago at start couldn't take our exercise allowance away as it would make it far harder to add more time on to it
