But still has the cough. Picked the wife up from work yesterday and learned one of her team is very ill in intensive care with it. Worrying times. |

if people adhere to the govermeant rules then racing will return a lot quicker but if not we could be sitting indoors for a long while but i fear the latter will happen, only yesterday i saw a group of about 6 teenagers smoking down an alleyway near where i live, its a attitude that it wont happen to me so why should i care

these are proberly the same ones that now start betting on american and aussie racing and of course the cartoon grand national (though profits did go to the nhs so i will excuse this one), its the desprate factor dont like casino games so anything will do, i havent a bet since early march and proberly not before june either at the rate the virus is going

Yeah, its not really just about having a bet, is it Rooster. Horse racing has its own ecosystem and the longer the delay to restarting, the the more damage will have been done to the industry as a whole. I'm hoping racing can start again ASAP. Some of you sound happy about it not starting on May 1st? This enforced period of no horse racing is probably the first time you've ever broke even at the game!

I will freely admit I didn't take it too seriously to start with but am now aware that literally anyone could get seriously ill or die from this virus however as soon as the signs are there that the NHS can cope the country simply has to start to get back to some sort of normality otherwise the financial and social implications will eventually outweigh the medical issues resulting in many more deaths and the country in ruin.

Totally agree ribero there has to be a plan, wont be normal life for a long time but you would hope with restrictions as close to normal as possible.

I would love to see racing back as soon as possible but all the while people are told to keep up the "Social Distancing" it would be rather difficult for the jockeys to keep 2 metres away from any other jockeys while they are racing.

but at my age i'm probably far more likely to die of cancer,heart attack,stroke etc.(i've
already had a serious pulminary embolism) than of the virus. i do not walk around frightened of the other diseases which kill far more people than this will so will not walk around frightened and wringing my hands about this virus |

I have a very good friend who had major heart surgery involving them taking his heart out for hours, he is a bit younger than me and knows he is one of the people most at risk so he is not mixing with people except his wife and dog. He is keeping clear of his grown up children until things are less dangerous.
