Not quite - TimmyRiggins

This Thread is about Cheltenham - not the end of the world.

These things tend to peak, and then drop fairly quickly - for example

China - nearly 80,000 cases in Total - with just a 577 day increase latest.

only problem I see is the likes of nissaan ,etc big car manufacturers which have 2/3 000 going in over a 24 hr shift, can government close a private company down ,will government have to compensate them to do so

Judging by this thread it seems that the coronavirus adopts a variation on the martingale system in a bid for global anhialation.Grin

A big part of the problem is that "confirmed cases" massively understates the extent of the spread.   Loads of people will have it but still be in the incubation period.  Plus lots of younger, healthier people can have it with little or no symptoms, but they can still infect others.

true, which is why what the media are getting off on now is just the start, they just needed something to fill the Brexit gap and the Chinese dropped them a cracker

I think on a positive boris hasn't panicked today, so whilst they are monitoring they have not jumped in and started culling events, obv iif cases rise markedly that may change

Following the PM's statement after the COBRA meeting are we any the wiser re: Cheltenham ?

only that no of cases will dictate action

No panic is good, but I would be concerned that after the Bank of England talked about fiscal stimulation this morning uk markets rose by
3% but are now down by 1.2% a very big difference. Suspect the market makers think that this going to get far worse before it gets better.

The wee Crankie from Jockland spilled the beans live  on TV - before the Boris interview was shown.

"Government Plan will be published tomorrow."

Stage One - CONTAINMENT - as Current

Stage - DELAY - to try and prevent the Spread - Which could include restricting large Public gatherings, such as Sporting Events

- "We have NO Plans to do that at PRESENT."
By:

'YES' dropped from 1.6 - in stages - to around 1.53 - after she had spoken.

Dropped from 1.53 to around 1.45 after Boris spoke.

I just took that as small number of cases too early to got to stage 2, think it would change in a matter of hours should there be enough cases to warrant

Of course it goes ahead, as will the Olympics and the Euros

Haven't learned anything when it comes to how these w*** stains operate? they will NEVER cancel big sporting events, they couldn't bring themselves to do it from a distraction standpoint, the money also

A couple of postponed games in Italy is all you'll get, even though (allegedly) its spreading and numbers are spiking

Yet airports are open and sporting events carry on unhindered

Another pathetic scam from the ruling elites Cry

Cheltenham is a minority sport if Boris and his advisors wanted to show  concern it would be this public meet that is abandoned.

Beggars belief how people think that flying/rail travel and using the tube should be shutdown before Sporting Events. Nobody's children will starve if people don't attend sporting events but if they don't get to work and earn money they will. I love Cheltenham but surely you can't put that before the nations families CrazyCrazyCrazy

hey foxy, i'd be gutted if they decide (as in the gov) to impose restrictions, but I absolutely expect that to happen, the only question is when

if we can hold off a week great, but i'm still thinking that the cases will multiply back end of week and that might cause them to introduce measures

they won't cancel whilst they have the decision in their hands of course they won't, but crowd restrictions imposed by the gov won't make it their call and that's what this is about

I admire your confidence foxy. I am looking forward to meeting you and your good lady again but I am not setting my hopes too high. I expect the Armada of horse coming across the Irish Sea will son be being loaded for the trip. I hope the green ( or red ) light is shown to them in time to  avoid potential financial losses.
