How about you keeping your opinions to yourself Domino? Nowhere did you state that you place laid the Dunn horse. domino14 24 Aug 18 18:21 If you read properly, you would see I said I LAYED it in the place market when it had been supported into a false price, so no I didn't lay a 30 shot. In future unless you know facts, keep your opinions to yourself. could we have some clarification please from the actual post. |

£604.70 (£395.30 loss)
A cruel day, where two narrow defeats in photo finishes made what could have been a £400 profit, a £101.50 loss, such fine margins! Mabs Cross beat a pixel, and Spiced beaten a short head. Poor runs by Elasia and Space Traveller and the sole winner was Sangarius. They say life's a game of inches, and effectively inches was the difference between a big profit and what has actually turned out a loss today. On to tomorrow. |

Who cares who backs and lays what and how here? But, I'm all ears for info I do not know or able to access eg experiences from within the racing fraternity, etc.
Too many unwanted and unwarranted egos here - the same suspects - who are spoiling this forum for others. Each to his/her own, I guess. |

WD domino had a look at the sangarius race, spotted it was a kingman horse, knowing there aint been many
winners so far this season for kingman, looked a good bet. some other posters have noticed your staking is allover the place. got to agree the amounts and bets you are doing and style of betting is not good. think your betting strategy needs a rethink. goodluck |

Second outing for Blenheim Palace (8/1) today domino, any thoughts on how it might fair...?
As an aside the fav is Mount Everest an old pick of AIS's that hasn't so far fulfilled the early hopes people had for it, just to add further spice the "pink" colours are also being used by Sovereign. It looks a very competitive race that I personally wouldn't want to have a wager in, hoping to see a big improvement from the Weld runner Musalsal though, thought he ran a promising race first time just in front of Blenheim Palace, will be interesting to see where the pair of them finish. |

Dom as others have said your staking is not sensible but as you are so arrogant you will not listen to advice but thanks for your thoughts.

Notice how you don't pick up on Andrew NEVER deducting commission on his thread which on 62 winning bets at £50 , actually accounts for over £150 of his suggested profit .... Hi Guys, Just to clarify the above that i actually agree is a very valid point and i should therefore respond; however the latter part of the post is woefully and carelessly inaccurate. I did give deduction of commission a thought on day one of the previous thread, but for those that are not aware, the Betfair base rate in Sweden is 6.5% as opposed to 5% in UK where most readers are domiciled. If i used 6.5% then i'm at a slight disadvantage straight away, losing 1.5% on every thread winning bet, although i have to accept it on my personal bets of course. If i don't use 5%, then what is a fair figure to use as a basis ? I suspect the UK range of punters is between 3%-5% so i could have chosen an average 4% i guess, or even simply taken the top end 5% anyway. When i post matched bets, the liability is always designated, we all know this, so if i use this fugure in the p/l everything can be compared and is very transparent, one thing i've always wanted and maintained. Yes, i could have calculated the deduction of commission each day, but this could entail a slight risk of error although as an engineer you would expect my maths to be good. In my opinion, the majority of the lay thread readers were (and are) fully aware i have never deducted commission, it's actually quite obvious anyway, Domino picked up on it. The above is my reasoning for not deducting commission, but if i ever use the profit figure in any future thread, i will ensure it's mentioned. Apologies. OK, let's assume i had deducted commission and used the top end UK 5% bese rate ....... 5% of £1657 (the overall profit) is actually £82.85 ....... almost half of what was stated ! It appears my Swedish wooden Abacus with little multi-coloured balls is significantly more accurate than using ones toes and fingers ![]() |

By:
As I stated when u started the original thread, I was interested in how u got on, and I am now convinced that u can have a profitable interest in racing by laying one horse a day
|
|
By:
I have never read your threads Andrew so excuse me if I'm talking rubbish. But commission is not based on overall profit (unfortunately) and if Dom's statement of 62 bets at £50 is correct then his calculation seems right.
|
|
By:
I appear to have mis-read.
The number of winning bets was actually 55 (from 66 selections) so it would be 55 x £50 = £2750 Taking 5% of £2750 = £137.50 Still not over £150 ............. but apologies again |

By:
Sorry thought you said you were 62 out of 66, not 55 out of 66, but yes commission would be £137.50 on 55. Plus a further £7.50 on the 3 latest successful ones.
I didn't mind you don't display to commission, I was just making a point that I was being shot down for not accounting it on a rough work out when I do on all my results, yet the same person who posts a lot on other threads had not mentioned on yours, he was of course just looking to have something to whinge in my direction at. My bets today bit late as only just got home but will be put some up in 30 mins of so. |

@Mrcombustible
I swear at Chalton2005 as he doesn't try to offer advice, or be constructive he is simply looking at every opportunity to have a go, and troll, and trying to be clever. Anyone who asks an opinion or offers fair advice, I am always courteous and polite to. If you wanna write abuse and such, I wont afford them the same civility. You say my staking is poor and it may not be for everyone's liking, but how I staked yesterday actually kept my losses down, had I backed all to win, I would have lost more, I was narrowly denied a great day yesterday frustratingly. |

Notice how you don't pick up on Andrew NEVER deducting commission on his thread which on 62 winning bets at £50 , actually accounts for over £150 of his suggested profit .... Dom thinks everybody else on here is thick and can’t work it out for themselves, if you have to explain it to him it makes him look thick. Don’t do it, just get back on your own thread and don’t cause trouble. ![]() |

£604.70 (£395.30 loss)
Saturday 25th August Okay this will be a brief message today with 4 bets and 1 lay. 1.40 - Newmarket - Royal Marine - £20 Win @ BSP Highly regarded newcomer of SBS who has been working with Jfoul (ran well in sales race) lately and has impressed in work under Chris Catlin. This doesn't look strong Newmarket maiden wise, so happy to chance small on debut as trainer has good record with newcomers. 1.45 - Curragh - Blenheim Palace - £5 Win / £20 4 Place @ 20.0 & 3.45 Nice horse who was far too green on debut, has only had one gallop recorded since which was a pleasing piece of work with Broome who didn't run badly the other day at York, staying on. Much better run expected today and I don't like Mount Everest as a horse as he is very one paced. Actually think Yonkers may be the one to beat, but Blenheim Palace should leave a poor debut behind and I would expect him in the 4 over a mile today. 3.40 York - Blakeney Point - £10 Win / £25 6 Place @ 12.5 & 2.12 Running on well in strong handicaps and stakes races over 12f and looks to have had his mark protected with this race in mind. Yard in good form, and blinkers on , Jockey in fine form at present and step up in trip will suit. Looks a solid chance in race. 4.00 Curragh - Gossamer Wings - £10 Lay @ 3.3 Not convinced she is progressing and whilst return to 5f may help, to me she wants slower ground and not progressing, opposable at price. 4.25 Goodwood - Stylehunter - £40 Win @ 1.75 Price gone due to non runners but this horse is being aimed at the Cambridgeshire and he has been working with Roaring Lion lately at home. Could be very well treated off 92 and stayed on strongly over inadequate 8f last time. Extra furlong will suit and looks an exciting prospect and my best bet today. Regards |

Moneys come for Mt Everest Domino think he may well win this, impeccably bred.
|
|
By:
He may but he just looks very one paced to me, and is short enough for a horse who prob wants 12f already.
|
|
By:
Looked one paced till he hit top gear!

|
By:
Yup thought he looked beat until final 100 yards, then just went away. But unlike in previous races he was well positioned today.
