doyle swapping whip hands 100yds out was worse than what moore done.

Once again gives the horse no chance of winning and finds all the trouble going

Most of you guys would be better studying the horses attitude and forget the jockeys.

One rule in horse racing is never let an adversary a start and be over confident, but Moore broke both these rules.
Big Orange has a big heart and a battler but running over 20f for the 1st time. On the other hand OoSG is never a straight forward race, but his jockey gave the resolute battler Big Orange too much rope and as hard as OoSG might have tried the damage had already been done getting to the girth of the Big Orange. Also, the winner did not have to battle until OoSG got to him, and he was up for it; OoSG would more likely be the winner the further they went, I believe. |

Absolutely right Howard. No doubt the horse dodged it and hung in towards the winner. Everyone would have known that in the old days on Betfair. |
By:
The horse went as far as China and back and was beat by a very small margin. Behave yourself.

Poxy ride. Could of easily sat 5 lenghts off the winner early doors instead of 12 lenghts. Typical **** for journos putting the blame on the horse. The horse ran its guts out to get to where it did. He lost the race in the first couple of furlongs.

No wonder the poor horse tried to lean on Big Orange he had been to the car park and back.
Another stinking ride from a bang average jockey. 20 + riders out there could do as well as him or likely better. |

Please list the 20 to help with my future punting.
Thanking you in advance. |

I am getting the impression that the old days of this forum must have been akin to listening to the gravy train who never spot a bad ride. At least they are paid to talk nonsense.
Anyone who couldn't see that as a duff ride may as well give up. As I said it is not as if he hasn't got 'previous' on the horse. He is now 2/6, including three odds on defeats. The horse got him out of trouble last year and he was rightly ripped after the Champions Day debacle. It looks as if he didn't learn anything from that defeat. |

Just read through the cards at Ascot tomorrow until you get to 20. If you find W Buick don't count him

You are a stern judge,do you ever get to have a bet.
By:
Drum, are you saying O'brien is a bad judge,or maybe Magnier,or maybe Tabor, 'cos they keep employing this crap jockey.
By:
The thing is differentdrum after your contradiction regarding draw and not having a bet and then telling us that you had the winner, as highlighted earlier today, why would anyone wish to take your word or believe that you are able to read a race......

By:
Kinane got into a mess on Rock of Gibraltar in the Coventry and the Breeders Cup mile. Possibly lost the Breeders Cup Classic on Giant's Causeway when getting his reins in a muddle. Fallon had some disasters at Goodwood.

Been punting daily for 50 years, and in that time I could probably come up with 6 or 7 of equal or superior quality to R Moore, but it would not be easy.
By:
I was highly critical of Moore's ride of U S A Army Ranger in last years Derby .
To me, he ruined the horse, who has subsequently not won a race ! Why, he rides like this God knows, today he was beat on the best horse because of poor positioning.. notwithstanding the draw . |

By:
George Moore,Yves Saint-Martin,Lester Piggot,Steve Cauthen, Ron Hutchinson, Pat Eddery, and now I'm struggling.
By:
Good one Rothman, are you Ryan's agent?
By:
No Mercer, Murtagh, Kinane, Fallon, Dettori, Roe or Soumillon, you may have your own reasons for not liking them, but all at the pinnacle of their careers were equal,if not better in most cases, than Moore is or ever will be.
By:
Does anyone know what price OoSG traded at please? I don't know, but I would say it was low. Therefore, most people thinking he had delivered it to win.
You have to remember, the Moore horse was saving energy when the eventual winner pressed on early. You cannot have it both ways. |
By:
Jesus christ. Are you for real.
By:
I am serious TMB, so you think that the fav used as much energy early on as the winner?

This is a horse who finished close up in an Arc so no probs on pace grounds to be closer than what he was. Then he takes a trip to Beijing and the horse busts a gut for the fool to get so close. The guy is ordinary in an era of below average jockeys. He is very lucky to be allowed on some of these steering jobs and he can't get that right. The Ballydoyle boys only really interested in the big one tomorrow. If he gets beat on this I would fire him off.
By:
Interesting to know how quick he covered 3f out to 1f out, in comparison to the middle distance horses in the other races. I'd say he wasn't far away for a horse in a stayets race.
By:
Haven't read all of the thread but for what it's worth had Moore nailed it on the line it would have been the ride of the season for me. I anticipate the rematch with greedy fingers...
By:
As I have often said about him, a very average jockey who has been blessed to have sat on some incredible blue bloods, only to get them beat! and yes I'm talking through my pocket.
By:
People keep telling me, he sat off a slow pace... but imo, this was the most strongly run race of the day and he was entitled to think the pace would collapse, as it did with every other horse
By:
Would Big Orange finish in the first 3 of an Arc. Would it fack. He was on the best horse by a street and royally facked it up.
By:
After about 30 seconds I thought to myself, you are too far back, I respect others opinions, but honestly, he gave that a poor ride, the horse is not paceless, he could have had that a good 4 or 5 closer to the pace, and it would have won, I have no doubt
By:
im no ryan moore fan and he fcuks up a lot of rides..but watch last years race and decide was it a bad ride today..another 4 inches and he would be praised for a wonder ride..
By:
I didn't have a bet on the race so have no axe to grind either way.
Moore is a fine jockey and if the horse was good enough he would have won. Credit to Big Orange who basically just outfought him. Simple as that. No pilot error. |
By:
Right so which jockeys can we trust to carry our money and not **** up ? not a lot about these days is there ? only Frankie and Moore big names, the rest ? must be one somewhere.
By:
There is no one to trust for the reason everyone has been so vocal about, all of the popular jockeys today are capable of providing the very best of rides and the very worst in consecutive races, as there are no greats.
It is important to bear in mind though that the jockeys today are under the microscope for every ride not just the ones on terrestrial tv as in the days of the referred to greats like Piggott etc, they made just as many errors, it is just that only those in attendance at the course had the chance to be aware of said errors, and in the races that did matter they rarely got it wrong, Greville aside of course...! |
