Thing is, they are well made, a hole that that doesn't open up during the course of one race surely? Someone should have noticed that there was a hole there it must have been noticeable

If this horse was layed in running, should that bet not stand?

Im amazed punters are happy for them to settle bets and then rejig the result. Surelly they should be waiting on the official result before settling? Once your paid your paid it should be that simple and it shapes how you bet on the next few races. To just resettle is not acceptable imo and make your account negative.

The conspiracy theorists probably thought Niall had to give that weight a big tug to get it out of the ripped bag. Maybe they will ask RUK for a slow motion replay of where the weights dropped out.

By:
Keefter, Yeah I'm curious about this. I backed him pre race, then stuck up a lay mid race as I usually do. Everything was matched yet the money from my lay is gone and my stake from the back is back in my account. In other words, it's been settled as if it was a non runner. Never happened to me before so I admit I need to read the rules regarding this type of disqualification.

people like to be paid quickly bookie 25 so they can punt on the next race.

no

TheFear i understand that but if Betfair want to model their business on that then it should be first past the post, otherwise they should wait on the official result. They shouldnt be settling quick and then taking funds from your account. I backed the winner/disq horse and then backed a couple of losers. I then reloaded and they resettled taking the reload and making my account negative. No email from CS or nothing. You shouldn't be allowed to bet with funds that are not OFFICIALLY yours. That imo is dangerous ground for Betfair.

Taking them a while to put this right

Does no one think these incidents don't result in a void market?
By:
should ^
By:
KC the thing is i dont want to close my account. They should just play by the rules. Im surprised with it being a fav that more people have not been effected even worse than me tbh.
By:
there are loads of threads every week about slow settling race, i doubt very much that waiting for the weigh in on every race is the answer
By:
Kjansch no it shouldnt be void. They should either honour their mistake in settling early or should ament the Tc & Cs to first past the post if they want to settle early or wait on the official result. Nobody should be able to bet for half an hour with money that is not OFFICIALLY their money and Betfair are allowing that to happen and then expecting punters to pay it back if the result is amended and they lose.
By:
The dealer then surelly first past the post is the answer?
By:
how can you possibly pay FPTP on horses that dont carry the right weight, surely that would cause even more skullduggery
