has he got a shirt on or jockey silks.?

I'd imagine that channel 4 must have a long term contract with him(and Segal,Kealy etc.).When it's all over and the enquiries into what went wrong begin I can picture some C4 heidjin saying"You know, there was one simple change we could have made.."

He is to racing punditry what Father Dougal is to the priesthood.

They should replace Fitz with Ruby Walsh's Dad. The programme would be much more informative and entertaining. Always look forward to the very rare occasions that he's on the telly. Now he DOES know the business in my view.

The definition of narcissism: extreme selfishness, with a grandiose view of one's own talents and a craving for admiration, as characterizing a personality type.

At least they've now confined him to doing meaningless interviews, rather than giving expert comments on horseracing.
Reminds me alot of the way they managed to shunt Thompson into the sidings also. Next step out the door hopefully . |
By:
Oh God, Nick Luck has just said he's on next week as well.
![]() At least it will make me go to Cheltenham instead of watching at home. |

I hope ITV pull their finger out with some decent presenters next year. Frankie Dettori would be an excellent choice in my opinion. Fun and informative he'd be. That's why ch4 is in decline....same old same old. That's why analyst starts with ANAL
Bet you this is the type of line up ITV are sorting. Claire Balding.....always wise after the event.... after her family has a winner.....but never mentions anything until it wins and she's on at 50-1 ante post. Alistair Down.....came across to me as patronising working class man who thought he was above everyone else. Tanya Stephenson....can't talk to camera without making at least one mistake....stuttering etc Derek "I could not tip rubbish" Thompson. Seems to be a genuine guy though. Didn't a dog once beat him in a tipping competition!!!!. Matt Chapman is annoying and if no-one agrees with him they don't know what they are talking about. If you look back at the presenters/analysts CH4 have had over the years.....only a couple any good....John Francome was one.....and I hope they get rid of all that analyst screen touching rubbish they have on now whilst sat in some sort of caravan too. I feel better now after that rant......any views on what itv should do to make racing on tv more appealing & new presenters. |

Genuine guy
.You have obviously missed the catalogue of scams performed by this genuine guy over many decades . |
By:
He'll be gone for good at the end of the year. I hope he uses his CH4 redundancy money wisely. With a bit of luck ATR will pay him off too and he'll disappear for ever.

Just look at this thread. The majority of the 50 plus posts written not by cranks but by racing people who love the sport and simply cannot stand this dross anymore.
I just hope some of the new ITV producers read this stuff.....because WHAT ARE THE C4 AND ATR LOT SEEING THAT WE ARENT. Complete and total dross.....please ITV don't make us suffer any more. His latest sound bite being to wish every man and his dog 'well done' after his cliche ridden robotic interviews. Its actually so bad that if it wasn't my main hobby I'd find it hilarious. |

As Alan Shearer has proved, no matter your sporting achievements it doesn't stop you from being a boring **** coming out with the same old pony. If only a once weekly, late night slot could be found for Fitzgerald.

ffs not again

By:
He's on again !!! Why .
He's not needed. Leopardstown is well covered and what can he offer regarding the AW at Chelmsford ? |
By:
Another day ruined.
'You know what, i wish more people would come to leopardstown, it has some of the best facilities for owners and trainers around' ![]() |
By:
And now O'Brien asks Rory Diwani the same numbskull questions!
By:
Jesus Christ! How the hell is he on again?
Thank **** the tennis and golf is on! |
By:
Gary O'Brien and Kevin Blake on at Leopardstown and we have to put up with this c again because Fontwell is waterlogged!
By:
Can't wait for his Chelmsford input!
By:
I've just emailed ATR complaining about him and all you guys should do the same.

The master of hindsight. And he gets paid for it.

By:
E-mailed the ATR studio, no chance of a shout but at least they had to read it, so they know
. |
By:
is there any way of watching irish racing with viewing it via atr ?
By:
I e-mailed. studio@attheraces.com a bit earlier, but they haven't responded.
By:
More hindsight from the Master. He knew what the jockeys were thinking.
Apparently it will go either for the Neptune or the Albert Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaartlett. |
By:
Don't expect them to, but even they will get the message if people continue to voice their opinions - eventually
. |
By:
E-mail in saying what a great show it is today and what a great job Mick Fitz is doing and I bet that gets read out..Obviously Sunday being a day of rest is a phrase Mick is not familiar with..

With horses like this, you watch their ears ........
By:
I don't mind mick .
By:
Whst do you like about him Pablo
By:
the fact that he has ridden horses at the top level , I think his opinion/assessment counts far more than the other pundits that haven't , not for gambling purposes though .
By:
Can you quote an opinion that impressed you, that you hadn't already worked out for yourself,ie that wasn't the bleeding obvious
By:
calm down mike, I only said that I don't mind him .
By:
find his voice soothing ?
By:
that has never crossed my mind like it has yours mike
By:
My bug bear is that he answers questions with 'but....' and proceeds to not answer the question.
To his credit I cant remember he mentioned a horse he 'used to ride called Fondmaaaaaaaaaart' |
By:
I'm only switching over to watch the actual races but I bet he has said "this horse" at least a hundred times so far!
