jackboo, I had phoned them twice last week to register my disappointment at the changeover. The person that phoned me this morning told me that I was one of a number of customers that Betfair were ringing to get feedback on the new site. They also mentioned the level of disquiet on the forum in relation to the change.

This thread is effective.

well lets hope sense prevails and they keep the old site running because if it stays then all will be forgiven and if it goes its bye bye betting on betfair by me and god knows how many other people on here

If you are putting on the odd fiver or whatever I'm sure it won't be a big deal but many of us take gambling more seriously than that. If, after trying the new site, we found it better or easier then we would have used it. It would have been stupid not to.

How Betfair are analysing their stats would be revealing. I am sure that they could come up with a % of active users that use the new site, or definitions loaded all the way through to arrive at a favourable conclusion.

It's not a case of resisting change - we are all people who have embraced change (exchange betting itself, or IR betting specifically) so to throw that accusation around makes no sense.

I have read threads on this for some time and it is obvious that some have found glitches and have had dialouge with Betfair over the course of years yet issues remain. The obvious are that the site is too slow and is not in correct proportion - the market and betslip are much 'smaller'. The latter could surely be easily corrected.

^ Excellent reasoned post - by john92 -

Who is not a prolific poster - but, obviously, feels sufficiently concerned to join in this debate.

His last two points about the MARKET Frame (Odds Boxes) being disproportionately, "SMALLER," (than the OLD Site size) - along with, might I add, the UNNECESSARY GREY Background to some ODDS BOXES, and the far TOO DARK BLUE & PINK on the Main BOXES - 'hits the nail on the head'.

Yep, a good post by john92.  There certainly has been a feeling at Betfair that we're resistant to change and this is the cause for many of the complaints.  I know I've spoken to Betfair about this.  A line from an email conversation I was having with them back in December 2012: "some complaints are the result of an aversion to change whilst others are genuine issues.  I'm sure Betfair are able to discern between the two."

Just reading through these emails, they were asking me to help initiate conversation on here so they could keep track.  They do read this stuff but wisely don't respond as will inevitable descend into a shouting match.

My top 3 issues with the new site.

1) It is going to cause some punters to stop using the site and an inevitable downturn in exchange liquidity. This could snowball and liquidity is likely to take a hit from which it may never recover.

2) The site is much slower than the old one.

3) It looks horrible.

Betfair are phoning their customers and asking opinions about the old site going and the new site coming in.(they phoned me also).
i told them what i thought of the new site and that i had stopped gambling with their company.
if it is any addition to you all they seemed concerned about the outcry from customers.they spoke to me for nearly 50 minutes and are setting up complaints to send them to management.they sound sincere.

I'm the human equivalent of a betting yo-yo these past few months.  Can't stop tweaking my system either which probably isn't helping matters.

I've just spotted the community thread - it was so lovely to see that, it really was.  Happy days.

Fingers crossed for profitable days ahead eh.

Who gives a toss?  Registering protest on here may vent your spleen, but will BF take any notice?

I see they've considered altering the colours on the new site to imitate this one.

They've given in to their software guys who merely follow the trend for glitzy sites. I've never liked the newer site. It's a bit like the BBC forever changing their news site for no real purpose.

the new + site is shambolic, unusably for me.

I've tried, I really have. But have to agree that the new site is slow and clunky to use. Submitting bets, cancelling bets et al is very slow.

My conclusion is that the only way to use the exchange, if youre betting any more than once on a blue moon saturday, is via the api.

Visited the new site a couple of times in the past few days and still of the opinion it is dreadful; slow to navigate between markets, cluttered with useless nonsense (slots, casino etc) and the 'place multiples on the betfair sportsbook' message which appears on the betslip in every market.

Any chance of a 'lite' version of the new site (or keep the old site) that is tailored to those who only want to use the exchange?  After all ''The Exchange is at the heart of what we do''.....

The switch off for UK customers begins tomorrow for a small % of customers and will be completed within a few days.

They've said they've made some further improvements (such as the ability to strip it right back, although this is only horse racing for now) but I'm sure there will be something for us all to complain about.

Whatever you do, go to options and play around with them.  You can remove a lot of the crap but I still encounter some basic issues. Will take a few weeks off and hope further improvements made by the start of the football season.

Just received this email.

Hi Paul,

We'll be phasing out the Exchange 'Old site' in the coming days to make way for Exchange+.

Here are just a few of the new features:

Improved trading interface with fluid design that allows a better use of the space available on the browser window
Dedicated Exchange Betslip focused on placing singles and then quickly and easily managing your bets
Cash Out+ is available in Match odds markets for all sports. Cash Out is available in Horse Racing Win markets
    1-second price and bet updates
New Each Way racing market that is not available on the 'Old site'

Any questions? Click right here.

When you click on the email you get this page of nonsense.

Following years of development and much anticipation we've developed Exchange+, which has replaced the Classic Betfair Exchange page. We've got a host of improvements and new features that will enhance your betting experience.

The Benefits

Improved trading interface that allows a better use of the space available on the browser window.
Dedicated Exchange betslip focused on placing singles and then quickly and easily managing your bets.
Each way bets available on Exchange+ Horseracing
The Betslip dutching calculator is now available for both Lay and Back selections.
My Markets functionality is back as part of the new Favourites section.
Up to 1-second price and bet updates (available through the Display Options pane).
Display Sport Zones preference is back to the Display Options pane, you can now seamlessly use the left hand navigation to navigate to the market you desire.
CashOut+ is available in Match odds markets for all sports. Cash Out is also available in Horse Racing Win markets.
A revamped experience on Football Asian Handicap markets, (including new Profit & Loss table).
Market integration of Head 2 Head info for Football and Tennis, Timeform data for Horse Racing and betting forecast for Greyhound Racing.
Fast access to our Sportsbook Product where you’ll find a much richer experience for placing multiples.

What you need to know?

The Classic Betfair Exchange will be replaced by Exchange+ fully by 30th July 2015.
By offering a single desktop website for the Exchange, everyone alike will benefit from the new features we have built (e.g. faster prices, each way, cash out).
The classic site is out of date, retiring it means we can offer a faster, more secure product.
We truly believe that Exchange+ offers a better experience than classic.
All our new feature developments will be built on Exchange+, so the gap between Exchange+ and classic would only widen over time.
