Fair enough. I bought a new Land Rover Defender back in 2008, and the dealer down here in Somerset was most upset when I got the chequebook out. Insisted I had to take the financing deal, because it was "only" 7.5% APR. I could just keep the 25k invested elsewhere, and be no worse off, he reckoned. Before I had the chance to ask where I could get 7.5% interest even in those days, he glanced at the woman I was with and suggested that she and I could perhaps use some of the money to enjoy a driving holiday together in our new car. Or perhaps taker a look at some of the possible accessories etc. In the end I had to explain that I hadn't worked for 18 years and he wouldn't be allowed to offer the loan. Oh yes he could. Half an embarrassing hour of phone calls later he had to acknowledge he couldn't, but had succeeded in establishing I was very much a second-class citizen in the eyes of the woman. Can't believe you gave this guy more than 2 minutes of your time after he refused 'cash' Insisted you take a loan when you could pay the lot up front ? I'd have told what he could do with his Land Rover ! |

Pro gamblers earn their money. Differentiating between earn or won infers the latter has been obtained by luck ( ie lottery winnings). Very true this annoys me people think we just pluck stuff out of the air,what many do on here is akin to a city trader,they are seen by many as clever and a skill, we are viewed with derisory suspicion |
