hong kong fooey, yes it means you can't select it. I know it's not satisfactory but I suppose it gives an advantage to whoever takes a chance and shows their picks first.

Unnamed favourites as reserves
That's fine so long as your opponent hasn't selected the favourite by name, in which case your selection will have to be settled as a NR. If there are joint / co-favourites, your selection will be the one with the lowest racecard number. |

George - surely this reserve rule needs addressing - I mean the bit about your opponent not being able to select a horse you pick as a reserve (doesn't affect me today, as my oppo hasn't picked one I was interested in), but plenty have put up 3 reserves, at the same meeting as their selections, so it's not about abandoned meetings, and CAN just be used to block your opponent from picking another 3 horses that you fancy a bit.
I notice in some cases the reserves are in the same race as a 'proper' selection - that means that's at least 2 horses that have been put out of bounds in that race for the opponent. So can someone pick 3 reserves all in the same race, and put a total of 4 horses out of bounds? |

Regarding being blocked from choosing reserves chosen by your opponent, surely that (ie blocking) should only happen if the opponent has a non runner and actually makes use of that reserve?
