He's bitter because he didn't put enough on the original tips, then he thinks he's on to a good thing. If they'd tipped him a couple of winners, even luckily, he wouldn't be complaining.

Giving evidence from behind a screen, Missett told the court that after spending an initial £2,000 to join two betting syndicates for which she believed McCracken provided tips, many of which were unsuccessful, she paid £10,000 to a scheme to purchase horses that promised to turn a profit in three weeks.
Missett described how McCracken "rang my mum with an offer that was unbelievable". She said: "The group that was organising the betting were going to buy stallions from Australia. The profit was going back to the people giving the money. There'd be a 50 per cent return within three weeks. You could invest as much as you wanted to. ____________ what was Jocks excuse for that part of the con ? |

Drug dealing: McCracken accused
(The Racing Post Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge) OVER pounds 20,000 worth of cash and casino chips contaminated with heroin and cocaine were seized when police raided the home of Brighton punter and racing tipster John McCracken, a court heard yesterday. Officers allegedly saw Mc-Cracken stashing money under a mattress and later found pounds 16,330 with "unusually high" levels of Class A drugs. A further pounds 4,000 of casino chips, several mobile phones and diary entries referring to "brown, white, green" - consistent with drug-dealing - were also discovered, the jury was told. McCracken, 40, was arrested. When interviewed, he told police the cash was gambling winnings he planned to spend on betting. Prosecutor Annabel Maxwell-Scott told Hove Crown Court that police raided McCracken's home on May 24, 2005. She said: "When they arrived he was seen concealing cash under the mattress and police, having searched the property, recovered from several rooms in the house cash totalling pounds 16,330 and casino chips valued at pounds 4,000. "A significant portion of the cash was found to be contaminated with high levels of Class A and C drugs. Cash often has traces of drugs on it, particularly cocaine. It does tend to stick to bank notes, but the Crown say in this case the levels of drugs on this money are unusually high. "He also had property, several mobile phones and entries in diaries the Crown would say are consistent with drug dealing." The court heard traces of heroin and cocaine were found on the cash, while the casino chips allegedly tested positive for cocaine, cannabis and ecstasy. Maxwell-Scott said: "The Crown argues that the levels of contamination indicate that these notes had been in close proximity to a source of contamination, ie a drug dealer or drug user. "Five diaries were also discovered and these have been shown to a specific police officer who is an expert in drug lingo. Brown is heroin, green is cannabis and white is cocaine. "Also in the diaries is a list of names and figures and the Crown says this is consistent with being a tick list, an IOU. The list appears to be a list of customers and/or of drugs in demand or to be dealt. Mobile phones were analysed and a number of messages indicated that this defendant is a drug dealer."
