Funny how they keep censoring my posts, twice now, when all I am trying to do is give a balanced view and state the facts that were given in open court......... could it be that BHA don't want factual reporting of this case and are using Betfair police to act in concert with them.
The prosecution are at this minute doing their summing up ....... will be interesting to see how this is reported or mis-reported. As far as the previous case against Mccracken, this was in 2007 .......... and he was found not guilty and the case dismissed. I think you will find that due to the environment of casinos & on-course betting, there is a profusion of paper cash that is contaminated with drugs of all kinds, it goes without saying that these are favourite places to launder money by drug dealers and their like. Should we now expect every bookmaker to have a drug detection monitor for each £20 & £50 handed over, as well as the counterfeit screening devices ........ always gets me when you hand a bookie a wad of £20's or £50's he/she scrutinises every one, but when they pay you out they takes umbrage when you do likewise ........ ,,,,,,, unless you are a "FACE",,,,,,,,,,, ![]() ![]() ![]() See how long this posting lasts,,,,,,,, |

By:
jock and I struck numerous bets on-course 7/8 years ago, if I had gone home with notes that contained traces of drugs they could have come from anyone of 100 people, also if I had been raided while holding the money would I be accused of drug dealing?

McCracken impersonator warned off in bizarre case.
by Graham Green (Racing Post 2005) A FORMER racehorse owner who used John McCracken's notoriety to promote a tipping service that purported to be run by the infamous Brighton punter has been warned off for 12 months by the Jockey Club, writes Graham Green. Paul Gargan, 24, claimed the bizarre plan was hatched in a desperate bid to flush out rogue tipsters who have conned him out of £100,000. Pretending to be McCracken, who was, in effect, given a lifetime ban from Britain's racecourses and training yards last December (2004)and has since been outlawed by the major bookmakers, Gargan promised prospective clients: "I can tell you about fixed races, non-triers, inside gambles, handicap plots, horse doping and even jockeys who will jump off horses." In his mailshot, which was accompanied by a copy of a Racing Post front-page story about McCracken from June last year, Gargan also portrayed himself as being "Well known in the racing industry as being heavily involved in race- fixing", said he would "provide information directly from the jockeys and trainers" and boasted his 800-plus clients included "professional gamblers, footballers, actors, solicitors, judges, doctors and even gangsters, all of who [sic] swear by me". Following the Sussex-based estate agent's refusal to be interviewed by the Jockey Club's security department, he has been declared a disqualified person for a year from Friday, although he did provide the disciplinary panel with a written statement two days before the hearing he declined to attend. Gargan, who until the end of May owned a 25 per cent share in the Gary Moore-trained filly Isitloveyourafter, said: "I got into a position over the last couple of years whereby lots of conmen tipsters were getting in touch with me and it has cost me the best part of £100,000. I got involved, in an act of desperation, in sending out the sort of flyers I was receiving to try to find out more about the people that I think might have taken my money. I wrote the most drastic flyer I could imagine." Gargan, who estimated he sent out around 1,000 letters but failed to get a single reply, added: "I don't know Mr McCracken. He didn't know what I was doing and there is no relationship between him and me whatsoever." So that goes some way to corroborating the crux of my deleted (censored) post. By the way Barry ...... didn't you realise Jock was an excluded person when you were taking his bets 7/8 years ago ....... BHA will have you in if you are not careful.,,,,,,,, mind you getting paid out was like pulling teeth,,,,,,, all the rubbish in the hod,,,,,, enjoy your retirement mate,,,,,,,, ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Jury fail to deliver verdict on McCracken
BY GRAHAM GREEN 7:45PM 30 JUL 2013 THE jury in the trial of warned-off punter John McCracken and two other men accused of being involved in a £5 million betting and tipping scam will return to Lewes Crown Court on Wednesday morning to continue their deliberations after failing to deliver a verdict on Tuesday afternoon. McCracken, 47, from Brighton, and his fellow defendants, John Brice, 40, of Hove, and Matthew Thole, 40, a company director from Cardiff, all deny charges of conspiracy to defraud. Summing up McCracken's evidence for the jury, Judge Richard Hayward said: "The prosecution says it was risky to use the name of a real person in a campaign unless they were in on it. "There is no evidence he is involved in the mail shots. There is no evidence he received money from the bank account. There is no evidence linking him to the alleged co-conspirators, apart from his name and photo being all over the mail shots. "McCracken told you he is a compulsive gambler and a prolific gambler. He backs horses to lose, he has paid jockeys, 98 per cent of his information is accurate. He said he gave no permission to use his name or his photo." Judge Hayward went on: "The defendant [McCracken] has admitted to you a propensity to defraud others. That's what he says he does. The Crown suggests that propensity makes it more likely he was involved in the conspiracy in this case. It does not follow that because McCracken has a propensity that he is guilty of these offences." Earlier he stressed to the jury they must consider the case against each defendant separately, explaining: "Just as it is a criminal offence to defraud someone, if two or more people agree to commit fraud the agreement is a conspiracy. "The prosecution's case is that each defendant conspired with each other and others to defraud punters and racing enthusiasts of money for services which were never going to be supplied. It may be that some conspirators are more involved than others. "The crown has called evidence as to how they [victims] were defrauded of money. But to prove its case against each defendant the Crown is relying partly on what is called circumstantial evidence. "The basis of circumstantial evidence depends on the unlikelihood of coincidence. They seek to prove to you this coincidence can only be explained rationally by the involvement of these defendants. It is not to be regarded as second-rate evidence, but might be regarded with care." The judge added: "Some of you may feel the losers in this case are gullible, foolish and even greedy. They had forgotten the old adage if something is too good to be true, it probably is." |

I think it's not guilty but honestly if an intelligent bloke like McCracken is more or less skint (according to his friends ) his judgement must be effing awful when he hasn't got info.
