Perhaps you'd like to try and do it yourself if he gets off.

he was not preying on the weak and vulnerable...he was preying on the greedy
McCracken's scam was, he was conning people into believing they were investing in a race fixing scheme imo

If we start taking people to court because they sell duff racing tips
our courts would be packed..

this may have come to court because McCracken sold this scheme to others, this is a test case
but I would argue they got what they deserved

I would suggest with respect that very few needy people will involved in this get rich

quick scheme but many greedy buggers will.

the fact we have started with McLean suggesting he did not know to lay horses
in my opinion a total lie...ConfusedConfused
this case is surely in danger of becoming a farce
could be entertaining though

All very true no doubt but if you sold fake Picassos cheap to celebrities you'd get 15 years.

Makes for a lovely headline though doesn't it? The poor frail old pensioner being stitched up by the evil, mysterious McCracken Laugh what a load of old tosh. You play with fire, don't be surprised if you get your fingers burnt.

Doesn't make McCracken some kind of hero. Never mind this case we know he's a very dodgy customer from his previous record. sickening his type are heroes to some on here.

I don't know how much truth there is in this story, or any of the other things i'm sure everyone has heard about Jock, it really wouldn't matter either way to some people tho would it? as long as they get chucked a bone every now and then they will be there offering a shoulder rub.

No hero to me, ss, not even read any court reports. Just trying to balance the more rabid comments on here.

cant see anyone from these posts who think he is a hero, just a few pointing out the sensationalism journalists and the fact the OAP isnt exactly what he seems

so regardless who people are or what they have done, they shouldnt get a fair trial or people shouldnt be made aware of the actual facts.

I have carefully not made judgements on the current case the dealer. I tend to agree that the evidence looks rocky. I am an innocent who had never heard of McCracken before yesterday but I did a bit of research on him and frankly I wouldn't let him buy me a drink.

but you allege people who posted are making him out as some sort of hero, using your words, purely based on what you have read about him, when in fact they are just giving a balanced view from a rather unbalanced piece of journalism.

SS, he was warned off for his refusal to cooperate with a race fixing enquiry. The fact that many of those involved are still in the game should be of concern to all on here.

I agree saddo. it's of even more concern that in 2010 according to two different and respectable sources McCracken was claiming not only to be going to two race meetings a week in disguise mainly and moreover to have 8 horses in training wunder other people's names.
Oh and he was prepared to dish the dirt on his cronies if the BHA would lift the ban.

Three of four shorties salute and Arsewipe McClean who only bets in small amounts is sold on Phil McCracken's tipping expertise to the tune of ten large. Do me a freaking favour and lock up the pair of these bastards.

What is unfair about this threaD is this, if by a long shot a juror or a friend of a juror

was to read this thread it surely must cloud his or her judgement one way or another, surprised

that this thread is still around.

Why has motley disappeared since ss pointed out he had the same pic as CF KANE? Now I cannot say for sure if they are the one and same - but only fair to point out there is plenty of history between CF KANE and jock. it seems to me that the exaggerations regarding this case is from quite a bitter motley. Most seem to have a fair judgement on what is happening except motley.

Why is this motley - do you care to enlighten us, or at least deny or confirm you are as CF KANE hiding behind another username.

If someone thinks they are buying into race fixing and gets mugged - its a "lesson learned" angle from me.

Can everyone who has rang thommo and the like who loves claiming "inside information" (which is illegal by the way) now take them to court after losing their hard earned??

One big question has to be answered here. (or is it two ? )

Did Mcracken just disappear when he got the guys 10k or did he continue to give the old guy information ?

If he got the 10k then just done a bunk with the money then Mcracken is Guilty imo

If he got the 10k yet was still in contact and offering the information as agreed then win or lose the old guy hasn't got a leg to stand on.

The old fella knew it was gambling and can't be happy and willing to pay 10k when he was winning yet plead scam when losing. You have to take the good with the bad you can't have it both ways

If the boy just fked off with the 10k then that is a different story

Peter McClean was giving evidence at the Lewes Crown Court trial of three men accused of taking part in a £5 million betting scam.

The trial is not just about Peter McLean - he is a significant witness

Ok did the three men

a) just fk off with all the money or

b) did they offer information that lost ?

If a) then guilty       if b) then no case to answer
By:

When: 17 Jul 13 14:07
Aye, 3 men, due to motley's hidden agenda though this thread has focussed on just the one.
