To explain the huge difference between the last thread "The pink panther beat the books"
and this new thread the old thread used a system called MDPM which has not been proven
over the long run and is too complex to evolve within a limited excel environment
with its limited resources.

I then decided to look into adding 2 powerful form line evaluation processes to
arrive at by early indications, a much better and accurate evaluation of the last 6 races
for each runner in a race which is the new ratings system for this new thread.

Also I am manually filtering prices to avoid following selections that are too short in the
market and more-likely to be non profitable.

I am now also able to keep all Flat and NH races in 2 seperate workbooks with almost
identical settings which keeps everything synchronised and easy to port out results
every evening which will be in BSP listing and with an Industry total to compare
how much better BSP is compared to the poor returning ISP.

I hope everyone finds this new thread interesting and profitable...

Total krapp from the fantasist, another attempt at a smokescreen.

He's throwing darts, two at a time at each race, then praying for a result.

Nothing has changed sinced March 2012, just had a look back at every thread, all LOSING, then he ups sticks and starts a new thread.

At one stage last year he was putting up 4 selections per race, yes 4 and still lost!!!

Lies, lies, lies, that's his modus operandi.

I'll say it again, we are dealing with a guy with serious problems.

£28.00 down so far from £64.00 staked as I write.

bff - a friend of mine compiled his own ratings for years, he was far better on the flat & AW. He always said the jumps was something he couldn`t get an edge with. He started on the 1st May and ran until early October (flat) 1st November until end of March AW. They were essentially speed ratings which if I remember correctly were then adjusted into a handicap rating. I know he developed a set of average times, well over 50 to cover the obvious variables.

It took him 3/4 years altogether and I along with 2 others used them regularly.

He always said it`s best not to overcomplicate.

Fascinating post Shanlee1966, I is so easy to over complicate ratings until you lose an
edge by either diffusion of accuracy or devaluing your average returned price and I
can well understand that it took so long as it really is a seasonal game and a very
complex set of principles to master.I am only a novice and its really just a hobby
and I have come to realise that it takes a lot of expiereince to understand all
matters that are involved with racing horses over differing courses, conditions
and throughout the changing racing seasons.

reminds me of a darts player  in my local years ago who thought he was the best thing since eric bristow.  i finally played half a dozen legs against him and  battered him 6-0 one excuse followed  another from the first game as he lost.  and  as kept losing the excuses got worse ending with him finally  declaring the extractor fan was changing the flight of his arrows and there was no point playing unless the land lord switched it off , he was the biggest p1llock the world had ever seen , but compared to the fantasist he was a complete  novice

Some classic Garee LaughLove

It is actually a matter of data modeling against the percieved values as created by the indusrty, other punters and odds compliers. The ratings I post are not filtered against the markets and I doubt I would post this as it would be too provocative so I will leave that to those that understand how to do this themselves....

I have not said I am brilliant so don't quite know how you have arrived at this presumption, i am an average guy that loves maths, computers, stats, predicting  and numbers. don't praise me at all praise the mighty binary, decimal and other numeration systems or praise the inventors of the computer or Internet, or praise horses, trainers, jockeys and owners and the horse racing industry and the bookmakers and sporting exchanges, but don't praise me as I don't want praise, but I do want profit and this is what we all want

There are selections and then there are Royal Selections

made a correction to the system last night as I have noticed version 3.0 with new changes to improvement form types hasnt performed as well and when I checked it threw out bronze cannon a winner some time ago and others, found that a bug in excel had led to an interesting effect
that had worked as a high pass filter which created a better returns strike, I have now cultivated this and modulated the effect as a function and it does provide better performance, today I am testing this out and its version 3.11 now

the combined ratings are at some 55 points in loss but this could change any time and this test will continue till Sunday when a round up of both systems will be posted, also I shall be working on compiling the race data at night so that I can post at mid-day each day if you want to use them for general referencing of betting selections.

For those interested the output I post is very raw and cosider these facts

1.....many maiden and three year old races would be thrown out of a betting program
but have been posted.

2.....many non runners have not been deleted from charts and would bring in more winners via
reserves being used.

3....you would not back short odds horses nor would I use races that have an odds on leading the
ratings and drag in the other 2 to bet on, these have been posted!

all three factors above stated have caused natural losses and the real figure of profit
if engaged in a real betting progrm would be much smarter
