It's been up and down like a ****'s drawers for the last few days. Can't you afford decent kit? It really is worse than poor performance for such a high-profile outfit. Get your backsides into gear guys.

It's yet another very simple thing that we can add to the long list of failures this multi-million pound company achieves on a daily basis...

OIf course, because it's "free" they pay it no attention. I see the Timeform site where you pays yer money, takes yer choice is working fine.

And, of course. complete radio silence from bnetfair on the subject - like when we might be able to access it again. Wonder if they're even bothering to do anything about it, given it's the weekend.

its in our terms and regulations , so it wont be our fault and if it is we will blame a third party

I have just joined the forum to find wtf the problem is with Timeform.
I thought it might be because I'm on the other side of the planet and it is 5.00am Saturday here in Melbourne but seems its not just me.
I use Google Chrome usually and have Firefox to test. I've been in IT for 35yrs and internet for 16yrs. The problem is definately at the Timeform server. I'd say their server has died and no one has worked it out yet. See message below:
The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server.
Apache/2.0.52 (Red Hat) Server at form.horseracing.betfair.com Port 80

Hi Melburner, timeform seems to go offline everyday now at BST 17:00 and later...

Hi bf_fananatic. So whoever is leaving the building at 5.00pm really is switching everything OFF!!!

Could the answer be this incredibly simple and stupid?

no mel, I think they have heavy duty issues that they have left to late to solve properly ... might even be with a third party storage supplier or somesuch. I worked for a co once that relied on Amazon for its data storage and when Amazons one European datacentre in Ireland went belly up we were screwed.

But of course no one tells us what is going on.

Reged, I thought that was the most likely.
My comment was rather tongue-in-cheek. But I do remember when large corporations had redundant systems. Even bank sites are falling over too often now.

Just got a text from them

We understand small pockets of users are experiencing minor setback whilst connecting to the results/form webpage, please clear your temp int files, i.o.o. (in our opinion)

Tell them to get in touch with reality and that the small pocket of users is called planet Earth.
It has nothing to do with any users computer or internet service.
It is a 502 Bad Gateway message. This means that their gateway is not getting the web page requested from their web server because the protocols are badly coded.

That is utter baloney - I clear my cache regularly (just done it). Makes no difference.

Everyone affected needs to bombard them with emails IMHO

help@timeform.com

Then they might get the message. I'm off to write mine.

Don't know about you but the Timeform site just loaded like lightning. The message must have got through. ;-)
