First one today - looks like there might be a bit of pace in this race - that could set it up for Clear Praise and even though it will probably be held up the draw has put me off that one - going to take a chance with one that has been in my notebook for a while - one of the problems here are whether this is the day or not - dropped another 3lbs here it has shown enough to suggest it still retains some ability - some of its french form would give it a great chance - anyway whatever happens today I'll be keeping an eye on it and Martin Lanes ride.

Main bet a non runner so last one today - a lot of roads lead towards Aaragon Rouge in this race - it is a bet for me on a system I run elsewhere - found a couple of negatives for it when I went through the race last night so although I'm not going to take it on in the normal markets I wouldn't say it's exactly bulletproof.

Ok two for the Melbourne Cup that look a bit overpriced to me - As far as I know Fiorente has only been with Gai Waterhouse for about a month but if she has got this one ready to go there are lines of form that would give it every chance Joshua Tree being one of them - maybe has some quirks but should really be improving with age.
Again as far as I know Cavalryman is Frankie Dettori's last ride for Godolphin so maybe a bit of sentiment involved here - if there was going to be someone who would have a fairytale ending it would probably be Frankie - again has some lines of form that would give this a decent chance Aaim To Prosper being one of them. Oddschecker not been working properly today - Cavalryman was 33/1 with VC now 27/1? with 365 - Aussie bookie T Waterhouse has it at 31.00 but I'm not sure about the e/way terms there - Betfair is only a place first three. Just to say I'll settle Fiorente 2nd as 33/1 not 40/1 which it was on Oddschecker when I posted - when I went to bet what little I could get on with 365 it had changed to 33's - don't know what price it was with the Bookies at the off but if it was bigger none of the Bookies I bet it with paid BOG. Yeah lot of movers in the markets today - winner got first run on Fiorente might not have made any difference anyway - last one today has also dropped in price - most of them today are shorter than I was hoping for - hopefully still a bit of value in them.

Cheers - still nothing much falling the right way - there were actually 8 points staked today - forgot about the two bets through the night - took the chance on Monzino 5th 33/1 staying - it didn't - BSP 48.80 matched at 4.00 - Neil Callan losing his whip didn't help matters on Rogue Reporter 2nd 5/1 - the other three were dire as were the rest of the bets in my Portfolio today - across all price ranges it was virtually a wipeout.

Next bet today is in the 6.25 Kempton - I had Rollin n Tumblin last time and it was the first one I looked at but I'm going to leave it out in favour of one of the fillies in the race - Astroscarlet is the 3-y-o and comes out top on some speed ratings but I'm going to plump for the 4-y-o Kampai although not massively overpriced - takes a big step up in trip but it has worked for the trainer and the sire before - main concern is the trainer form.

First one for today - only 3-y-o in the race so I cant take the wrong one this time - returns to Wolverhampton for the first time since a good spell at the beginning of the year - 4lbs above last winning mark and although a bit quirky has been running fairly well with conditions not always in his favour - cheek pieces are on - quite a competitive race but I would have him no bigger than 8/1.
