democrat, absolutely agree with you.  >95% of the time the connection is not an issue and it is just the very busy festival meetings like Cheltenham and the Derby where the shear number of people overload the local cell - anyone trying to make a phone call at the Derby will know what I mean.  That said, it is something we are aware of and looking to solve.

Isn't that what I said ? If not it's what I meant !! The Festivals are when any system needs to be at its most reliable and as of now where RDT users have a distinct advantage. Otherwise in the main it's a question of preference as to the software used.

Sorry muld - thought you said 'disagree' - another senior moment ! Please accept my apology.

democrat, no worries - I was agreeing with you.

Oaklands, the software has been developed to be compatible with the current hardware that's out there: boards, printers, keyboards etc and will run on any version of Windows.

ps. Not sure about the very old winning odds style boards.. if anyone still has these, but give us time.

So if it's not too obvious a question muld - What is your objective - and how do you hope/intend to achieve it ? What's in it for you ( putting it bluntly ) ?

Oaklands - I trade as MJH Racing, only been going a year or so, and have only had 1 pitch at cheltenham festival until recently, so extremely unlikely you'd have heard of me. muldvap trades as C&T Bookmakers

Cashless, that is a good point. Would you sooner we supply a doberman or a catheter bag for when you use the remote operator function?

MaxED, the software is free to download and free to use.  At this point we have no intention on charging, we're not even sure if anyone else would be interested in using it.  That said, should it prove popular and time consuming for us, or we have to make considerable investment in hardware then of course we may have to look at charging.  What there wont be is yearly support fees, I never liked them!

democrat, we literally just wrote this for ourselves as an alternative to what we were using and were asked by a bookmaker if we had considered letting others use it. What's in it for us? Well, if it all goes well, at the end of it we may have a business.

The more I think of it this Remote Operator function sounds perfect for MATT - designed with him in mind!

Sorry fibber - your 'serious' thread is being trivialised by the 'usual culprits'. I'd still appreciate a reply to to my previous q's re: your business plan and where you are going with this software. Not hibernating yet Pat - my co-passengers to GY need some more mushy peas before the season ends. [smiley:crazy]
