if 27 go with a couple of pacemakers on good or faster ground they could go some lick

With the GREATEST of respectr...

picking THREE and "Nailing colours to the mast" don't REALLY belong in the same sentence...[:p][:p]

PICK ONE and take your chances!!

I have been pretty vocal about RELIABLE MAN even before his French Derby win and I see nothing to change my mind now... well balanced colt with telling turn of foot and only loss was when the effing jock rode a shocker (as he does, now and then!)...

I had a little ew at 23s here 6 weeks ago and will wade in again on the day...

RELIABLE MAN
for me...

No one seems to keen on nathaniel , beaten a half length by frankel
beaten a head by derby runner up treasure beach (on firm )
beat workforce in a better time than workforces arc

On favoured soft stands a very good chance , and could improve again

If its soft or g/s then its a no bet race for me as imo there would be many contenders, here's hoping for a Indian summer in ParisCool

I think Nathaniel's a VERY good horse and will be even better next year... HOWEVER, he looks to lack a telling turn of foot or enough gears, imho, and you need one or both for the Arc

I think he may turn out to be a multiple KG winner who wins a breeders cup marathon - just mho

Read the top Frankel,WF is the main bet the other two are savers and has been so for months.

Show me an ante post punter with one bet and profit and i will show you a happy bookie.

BTW gave you another winner a little while ago which would have given you a free bet,AGAIN.Laugh[;)]

she needs luck in running, especially if it's going
to be a big field.Jock got her in trouble lto with
only 4 rnrs.Class filly but bit short in the market.
Should go close if getting the breaks.
Also was not the only unlucky horse last year.

Its wide open this year. Av had a bit of anti-post on Workforce and Sarafina at good prices a while ago. Personally if u have not played yet, then hold off till the day of the race when u will have the going and draw 2 help u. Best of luck.

Very happy to nail my colours to the mast of Nathaniel.

Can't understand why he's not shorter than he is - yes, the King George was messy but it was messy for him too. All you naysayers suggesting he got the run of the race and doesn't have a turn of foot are barking up the wrong tree - he didn't want to make the running at Ascot but was versatile enough to do it, and then he was the only one that quickened off it to dispel the myth that he is a grinder. Yes Workforce was not 100% but the excuses are stacking up now and Nathaniel was powering away from his field to win easily at the line.

He is the most progressive horse in the race - don't see how anyone can argue with that - and he acts with cut in the ground, stays wellm has been trained for the race, and hails from a Gosden yard that won the St Leger by bringing a horse long-targeted at that race to the boil absolutely perfectly for the big day.

As you can tell, for a change, I'm actually very confident on this one!

yes nathaniel is a decent horse but had wf run in a straight line he would have won the KG!!

No, So You Think has one thing going for him and that is his consistency. The more I see of him the more I like him,but I doubt he is as good as he is said to be.
Re Workforce and the KGV,if anyone has the relevant distances it would be a simple exercise in trigonometry to work out how much ground he lost.

i think syt will improve for the 12f, dont know why people are so negative against him!! he might not win or even place but so many threads completely dismissing his chance like hes some kind of plater, he beat wf over 10f which only a v high class horse could do and also snow fairy a dual oaks winner but sure u aleady know that!! puzzling why people say he has no chance, even if he doesnt go close, theyre guessing now because on all know form and breeding he has strong claims imo.

i just wished he ran a bit more, seems to thrive on racing!

Nathaniel received 12lbs when beating WF,but only receives 8lb in The Arc.

I think Nakayama Festa is a great e/w bet at the 33s. Had a small punt on that, but don't really fancy touching anything til the day, too many variables. I do like Nathaniel, but not at the current price. Meandre looks decent value too.

If SYT turns up he will win this race. I've stated it on here for a while & backed it up with plenty at various odds. I've also backed it to win the BC Classic. This horse is unusual not yet comparable to Frankel or STS but I don't think we've seen the best of him yet. He's done very little wrong in fact his defeat to Rewilding was poor tactics sent to the front far too early. He's beaten a few good yardsticks & can only beat what's put in front of him. As for the trip well we won't know till he tries it I've heard '10f specialist' & I've heard 'crying out for 12f' well only Ballydoyle will know. Even they might not be sure. This will be his first big test against the 'cream of the crop' & I believe he has the class to do it. My biggest worry is Meandre as the horse ticks all the boxes Fabre 3yo supplemented etc. Don't be fooled by the Prix Niel Guyon asked little of him & I suspect that was the plan in fact several french backers where annoyed to say the least. I'll be the first to hold up my hands if he runs poorly but if he wins it I hope his 'knockers' have the humility to say fair nuff.

Agree penzance didn't back Meandre in trial but race was steadily run which didn't suit and perfectly happy with that performance all things considered. With strong run race will be flying at the finish[;)]Cool

Started with 5 pre the trials MFA but WF always been the main one, have to be rutheless sometimes and prune the tree.Think you have done the right thing but still expect a big run,AF knows what it takes.

Very interesting that Peslier said at the start of the season that the French 3yo fillies were better than anything in France, backed up by group one wins in all age/sex races for Moonlight Cloud and Immortal Verse. With this in mind I will be backing Galikova but my main bet will be on Nathaniel. Beat workforce before and will again because the 3yos are much better than the seniors. I wouldn't write off the Japanese horses either but I'm sticking to what has already been proved this year, can't see a reason why this years big race trends would change?
Be Lucky[:)]

The barometer for the chance of a Japanese win can be judged on their interest in this years race, zilch in comparison with Deep Impact.May win one in the future but not this year imo.

Re-Nathanial,getting less weight from a fully fit WF in a reasonably clean race= Little chance of finishing in front of him.

When: 20 Sep 11 18:51
Workforce beat a Japanese horse into second by the skin of its teeth with the rest of the field playing bumper cars, so with your opinion of Japanese horse why are you backing Workforce, he won an average Arc? He has won an egg/spoon race at Sandown thats it this year, the stable have had a bad year and why won't Nathaniel improve further hes very lightly raced scopey horse? Workforce a massive place lay for me and that should pay for a fish supper for the family.[:)]
