Despite SYT being mooted as a starter by AOB I am sticking with the same 3 I picked a few weeks ago.

Main one being Workforce, vibes are still positive via the molerat, the 2 savers Galikova and Reliable Man came through their respective warm ups well enough,so far so good.Laugh[;)]

Nathanial progressive but wont cope with WF without the big weight advantage he had last time.In addition WF was hurting more than most realised last time.[;)]

My colours firmly nailed to the mast with Sarafina - id be very surprised if she didnt go extremely close - my only bet for the race

Cant have SYT at all - Reliable Man, Galikova, Workforce and Nathaniel the only other possible winners imvho

1. Sarafina 2. Workforce 3. Reliable Man

Cool

I nailed my colours to the mast before the King George.Nathaniel@25/1.

In the hope of a fast run race I suggest Meandre as the main danger.

Very interesting Meandre being supplemented, shortlisted it on someones thread a few weeks ago and wrote it off after the trials.
Still cant have it but AF is not daft for sure, forgotten more than most about this race and what is needed to win it.

Get laying dunlaying,no shame in a profit.[;)]Laugh

SYT wouldnt win if he started now,but to be honest i'll be amazed if he turns up,ballydoyle up to their old tricks with this one, wont turn up,Workforce is by far the best value, defending champ, easy to forgive his last 2 runs and the current fav is a horse he beat quite comfortably last season, also like the look of meandre [;)]

No forgiveness needed OTS,both times he proved he is as good as ever.No STS but wouldnt be too far behind.

What about SNA? Do you think he will run?

i think he will gt,probably as a pacemaker knowing ballydoyle Devil
i think if ridden properly he could run into a place, there's talent there, his run lto suggested to me he's a big of a hound,ah well not to worry, there's always cheltenham LaughCry

That is the rub OTS (and if Charnier and Fraudy are reading, not your kind hth[;)])

If he ran as a true contender i could see him getting a place, nightmare trying to second guess that lot.ConfusedConfused

Definitely have to give him a chance, the Arc can be a dirty or lucky race for lots of reasons.Cant have him in front of WF in a clean one though.[;)]Laugh

Think its going to be a case of who plays their hand last will win. Im waiting on the ground as i think this race will be right up Snow Fairy's street if its good or better, plenty of cover and although shes not the best in the field the race may play into her hands, oh and she could be 40-1 plus om the PMU

last years second horse, only beaten by a sensationally game effort from jockey and horse, is too big a price.

agree, got a weight pull with the filly.
Ran well imo after a long lay off in the trial.
Was also a bit unlucky in last years race.

Can't have that .You think Workforce ran as well in the Eclipse & KG as he did last year in The Derby & Arc Confused

Got you penzance, cheers.Remembered a few of us putting a few up pre-the trials.Cant write off Meandre but have to stick with convictions so far,AF obviously thinks differently and we should take notice.

Last year i backed WF before the Derby, immediately after and kept having a bit. When Harbinger hacked up i laid some off, then backed him and laid him. This went on for ages and was getting nowhere,in the end i compromised and let it ride.

The molerat told me 3 or 4 days before he was fine, after the race he said euraqhunt for not keeping in touch, laid off too much.SadCry

The Eclipse is over 10 furlongs,so you're not comparing like with like there, and the KG was a mess of a race,Strange pace, horses been knocked about, two very reasonable excuses imo

TBF OTS Tobermory might not have read all the thread.First is obvious, too short,2nd was a mess and he was more badly hurt than most realised.[;)]

zilzal you think the race will be any different this year?
any horses beaten "unluckily" last year that have proven the form wrong?
Personally can't see anything but a french win (I am a fan of both Reliable Man and Meandre), but no value at all in the British/Irish runners and Nakayama is a big price in my view.

Yep he did get the run though Glen. For a horse thats won both a Derby and an Arc it still isn't easy to judge him re ability, his best performance came on top of the ground at Epsom  but he's flopped at Ascot and he's a narrow arc winner in a troubled race which we've still to judge the quality
