Skiddy was sam Armstrong's. One of my dad's favourite horses. Won the last race at 100/8 one day, but my dad had run out of money by then and couldn't back him. He was sick!

I remember Old Man Dimplex for one reason in particular.

Looking at the next day's cards in my local evening paper one night, I noticed the typesetter had been playing silly beggars and had the horse down as Old Man Durex. Grin

ribero - was that Dante day? Because the day my dad did his money, and couldn't back Skiddy, was the day he backed Approval as he thought it was a cert; he was Cecil's first classic hope, and I think it was the Dante.
