Read that along with Mordin - funny how those look so dated these days, but still good fun to read.

I just wonder if he has ever updated the two books he published :

Against The Crowd -- First published in 1995
The Inside Track --  First Published in 1998

And has he written any other books as I would wish to purchase all books written by this author.

Many Thanks for any info ( I would love it if he would publish his betting practices in line with todays changes -- would be a best seller)

I reread his books last year and still got something from them.  He also comes over as a genuine man on his posts on here.

Those were the only two books he wrote, and he didn't get paid for one of them, as the publisher went bust. He said he would not write any more, as it wasn't worth the hassle.

I can understand a guy writing one book and not getting paid for it, but why would he write two?

Blackwater,

I was paid royalties for both books up to the point the publisher went bust, but at that point they owed me five grand which I never got back. Subsequently, under our quaint company law, the original publisher was allowed to buy the book rights from the liquidator for £1 and then go on selling them without paying me at all.

I concluded that writing books was good news for Smiths, Amazon and the publishers, but a mugs game for the author.

I have both books too and found them extremely informative. It's annoying that you didn't receive your just rewards for the effort in writing them.

Another quality thread descends into abuse and name calling

Headed 'Alan Potts - Pro Gambler', the Guy himself even takes time out to answer an enquiry

What happens next ?

As dull and predictable as A Question of Sport itself

Alan, I would love to read a new book by you.  It could be an autobiography or your current method of betting and how it has changed etc.

You could self publish it, with modern technology it is easy to print just a thousand or two to sell direct to punters and you can even put it on amazon and surely the racing post would take it?

Alan, out of interest, if you had your time again, would you keep the goodies to yourself?
