Remember that race at Devon when after the last one horse swerved right across the course taking the other with it,won by a short head.Not reversed and the other horse would have won with a straight run.These stewards have no consistency at all,should completely change the rules so that if this happens on any course and the result is ie a head or less the horse drifting across should be thrown out.

The French took the race off French trained Sagace (Arc) and gave it to Rainbow Quest, so the French DO do these t'ings...another day, another Quest...

Correct decision but the shame of our racing is that the French can bring 2 horses over and win both classics! If the Irish don't win, the French do. Very sad commentary on our second class racing.

It was difficult because it was a classic and they would prefer not to alter the result, easy because the rules meant the result had to be changed.....

CJ, Ravens Pass still got beaten in the Guineas to my cost! We did manage to win the 1000 last year with Ghanaati but when you consider that we are competing on home soil, we should not be sending 50% of our Group 1 prizes overseas year after year.

imo racing's integrity looks all the better after that decision. No home decision and no consideration for the financial implications of the decision. They applied the rules and made the correct decision.

Arguable decision - but had it been a French race with French horse FPP I doubt it would have been amended. Feel bad for HC/Noel as you regularly see far worse go unpenalised. Consistency the key. I realise I'm dreaming if I think that will ever happen

was the correct decision....i don't think that there is anything in the rules that says "don't reverse the decision if a national treasure is involved.

A correct interpretation of the English rules of racing, but a thoroughly unsatisfactory result, imo, with the best runner on the day losing the race, AND, even worse,
most of the fancied runners in supposedly better draws coming NOWHERE and not even being interfered with by two animals that officially drifted half way across the course! Something was wrong somewhere, imo. Did the over-water the far side or what? Music did best of the fancied on that side , but was lengths behind. Could it have been that, bar the fav, all the fancied runners ran unbelievably badly? Makes you wonder. Racing for Change? Fking about with silly odds ain't gonna encourage the public to get involved in racing, given that this sort of thing happens in a "Classic". A very poor course bias ( split groups with one way ahead of the other) or, there should have been an almighty enquiry to explain the poor performances of so many, imo. And before the usual pillocks on here say it's all the fault of the bookmakers etc, we should remember that the bookies have been hit hard by the revised result. |

pasquier should have stayed straight from the stalls...instead of forfeiting plenty of ground to get in behind....would have won by a good distance then.

As a first time racegoer if you backed the Cecil horse you would be upset cause it was 1st past post. If you backed high drawn horse you were never in the race. We as regulars get used to strange decision and things going against or for you, but if that was your first visit what would you think?
