Also it's stake not steak! |

Personally Hunter, I lay using a percentage of my bank as my Stake for each bet. For this particular venture, I'm laying at 0.4%, 0.6% & 1.0% of my bank. So originally my stakes, with a £4,000 bank were £16.00, £24.00 and £40.00.
Every time the bank is increased, so to are the stakes. However, when I have a losing day, ie Yesterday, The stakes remain the same |

Originally when I had a go at this, I started with £2,000, got up to £10,000 or so in 53 days. Had two devastating losing days in three and called it quits after winning £8,200. That was an experiment, and so to is this. Trying to discover what it takes to ultimately go full-time at this game. However, I am a long way off from that dream. Maybe in a couple of years once I've ironed out my faults

Interesting. I think I would do a lot of work in the mornings and select the races and losers before racing starts. As you say there are certain races to avoid. I've noticed too that in races of 7 runners or less the fav often loses. However I don't think it pays as the ratio of win/lose isn't big enough to make a profit. I've tries to c/f and multily but you get caught out. I think I would create a list of do's and don'ts in race selection, particular choosing those races with strong trends, then lay horses in those races using your type of staking plan.

Red, Did you manage to isolate the cause of the losing streak or was it any number of factors that went against you. I'm sure there is a system out there. I have lost a lot running into tens of thousands and am determined to get it back somehow. I really feel stupid and have made some stupid bets.

Won't be about for the 6.45 at Wolverhampton, so will post my lay up now. Laying Prime Defender for £20.40 at 5.5
GB / Wolv 9th Apr / 18:45 6f Hcap Prime Defender Lay 10589452718 09-Apr-10 18:03 5.5 20.40 5.5 09-Apr-10 18:03 Should be back in time for the 7.45, considering laying Atacama Sunrise, but will decide upon that nearer the time. If I am not back in time, I will lay it on my phone and let you know if I did, and how it got on |
|
By:
Chip, the reason for the losses was a combinatio of factors, a bit of bad luck, poor selections on my part and probably a bit of chasing also!
|
|
By:
ok. at least you had the sense to stop and re-group with a finer tuned system.

DAY TWENTY-ONE STATS
Today: 10/10 (100.00%) Overall: 152/184 (82.61%) P/(L) - 3.7% Comm: £235.74 Bank Incr. month: £232.13 Bank Incr. (20/03): £936.13 Great to get back on track today after such a bad hit. Hopefully more of the same from here on in. After 21 days, my bank stands at £4,936.13 with tomorrow's stakes remaining the same as today |
|
By:
That's 11/11 today I think RED. Well done. A couple of 2nds in there but thats bound to happen. So assuming all the bets were 6/1 which is the worst case scenario, you could absorb one winner to make a profit if you see what I mean (if you bet 11 markets a day). Therefore with your plan and mixed odds =7.0 you could probably absorb 2 winners and still make a profit i.e. 9/11 lay wins. Well your selections seem to be good. I assume you retain the staking plan until you reach and surpass your previous high bank which was £5,100 (assuming 30.60 is 0.6%)?

Couldn't get the horse matched, and was ultimately pulled-up

Still recovering from Khyber Kim as I thought Celestial was over priced and backed him. Ironic as Khyber is one of my standard bets! Got some back there though. I do like Richard Johnson
