Reprieved was never in it, CFT. Travelled poorly out the back, never looked like getting into it.

Talking of Alan Daly, was in the St Leger bar one night after a Donny fixture at the start of the season, he had ridden a winner for Bill Turner and was singing his head off to an appreciative crowd!

Bill Turner was seething after the Brocklesby.

That was poor!

He had a point imo, cgull.

Aye. He must have had it revved up to the max for the debut, I can't believe the Brocklesby form is that bad.

Aye, daft bet in retrospect. His filly that won two years back, I don't think she ever plaiced in a couple of dozen subsequent starts!

Sallys Dilemma. Aye - glad I kept out. Not betting on 2yr olds after a good 1st run is a rule I might have to stick to this yr.

looked to get outpaced pretty early on today didn't she lady brookie? todays race was a speedier test than the brocklesby mind, about 20 lengths quicker looking at the times

Top knowledge. Fingers crossed.
Throwing a few beans at the Rolf Harris trained Avongate here. Liam Jones has picked it over his 'first" string.

Looks like I haven't missed much. A real sense that the Flat is back now - this Nottingham meeting is usually a beauty.

I forgot to post the Barca bets, sorry. Early interests in the game at OT tonight are HT Man U/FT Draw and HT Man U/FT Bayern. More later.

Does TF state which course Nottingham races have been run on historically, Quito? The information is not provided by RI. Or do they use one course during specific dates?

Does anyone keeps stats for the performances of horses returning from Dubai to run on the turf here, March / April .. ? Only horse I can recall running well is Prohibit.

Can't see that they do, Muqbil.

I can confirm that they ran on the inside track at this meeting last year though, albeit the stalls were on the stands' side rather than central for the 5f races.

cheers Stevie.
Was looking at Montaff today. His debut was on Soft, beaten half a length, and he won next time on Heavy (he was 2/5 and only 6 runners, so expected). His only other run with cut in the ground he placed 2nd behind Prince Siegfried who won again next time out. Was thinking the Soft ground today could see him run a bit better but I dont like the fact it is his first run back from Dubai. Channons horses are running well enough, so a few pennies ew 16/1

I think today could be the day quito. goes on this ground and first time out could be the time to catch him. Noble storm has to give him 9lb and Quest for Success is good but not that good. got to be worth one more chance at 5/1

GL. should be a good race. plenty of early pace in there. I'm hoping spencer will sit in behind travelling well and then produce to win on the line.

I'm not so sure Montaff will be much better on today's ground sint. He struggled home at newcastle on heavy as a 2yo.

Ok thanks. Im just looking at it on paper, i've not seen that run.
By:

When: 07 Apr 10 10:24
Probably not the easiest thing for a 2yo to do, win over a mile on heavy, but yeah see what your saying reading the comments in-running. Think it's worth a bash at the price.
By:
Stevie Gerrard
When: 07 Apr 10 10:30
I wouldn't put you off at the price sint, it's just hard to say he will be better on softer ground given how weak that newcastle maiden was but the sandown maiden on soft wasn't bad and he has clearly improved as he's stepped up in trip. Hard horse to put a rating on. Not sure about those midfield finishes in dubai.

Tastahil and Opinion Poll set a pretty good standard.

Opinion Poll priced up on connections? Okay he goes well in testing ground but the Ascot race has hardly had many boosts has it? Jarvis has hardly come flying out of the traps either.
