Haha, I was home in Dublin with my family and my brother (who doesn't bet often) backed it so he was doing all the shouting. tbh, the joy of racing wins is kinda ruined by the spreadsheet analytical way. I kinda just let the wins and losses go without it impacting my mood. I reserve my enjoyment for days at the track with mates. Usually 4 times a year, 2 trips to Sandown, 1 to Ascot and 1 to Cheltenham. Really happy to see lots of new and returning people here this year. Happy Christmas all |

This month alone, 4 horses traded low odds on and lost. Ben Dundee 1.03 and Spiritofthegames 1.05. They land instead of getting chinned and at +74.34 the season is already a success. Gotta just keep on plugging away and it'll turn sooner or later, picks have been good luck just not there yet. One lesson I've learnt over past 18 months is there are no shortcuts to putting the work in, going through cards and form. Due to my job I've not had anywhere near the time over the last 18 months to focus on racing as I had in the 2 years prior. My solution atm is fewer bets and focus on what's most profitable, which is good handicaps. Anyway enough musings :) |

Agree entirely with your ' good handicaps ' focus. My bets are entirely confined to Class 1 or 2 Handicaps. 90% of which are run at Grade 1 Courses. A 20% win/sel ratio with a SP Average of 8/1 is the target. |

Felt like boxing day,took a few hits early doors,before a late comeback. Back in November 2017 I saw a 5 yr old jump those big Haydock fences like hurdles. He blew me away that day,yesterday he fulfilled that promise. A performance of pace and power that will live long in the memory.
