can't agree with that at all sorry. we've been here before with godolphin- they invariably disappoint in the classics. surely you've got to trust gosden over the boys in blue any day of the week.
in any case I've been more visibly impressed with lah di tar over anything wild illusion has managed. |
By:
He's got an outstanding chance with Wild Illusion. Lah Ti Dar won't see which way she went.
Why do people present their opinion as outright fact?! Just makes you look silly really. I disagree with the above statement but would never be so crass as to state it as a stone cold fact. |
By:
How can that possibly be a statement of fact when the event concerned that has yet to occur?
It's an opinion on what might happen concerning a future event. Facts relate to something that has already happened. |

I should have said, how can that possibly be a statement of fact when the event that is concerned has yet to occur?

That's what we call "nailing our colour to the mast vehemently" as opposed to another poster just recently who was unable to name or nominate a single horse or horses after nearly 9 hours of "deliberating and prevaricating" despite incessant posts. Which of these two approaches does one prefer or admire? Personally, the former any time as it means the individual is decisive and possibly (foolish) too but at least prepared to stick their head above the parapet and be counted.
By:
possibly (foolish) too
I'd say definitely in your case, no brackets required. How's that for being decisive? ![]() |

What a load of tosh. Each poster should be able to put their views across..it’s a forum. If I say Wild Illusion isn’t good enough to win then I shouldn’t be harassed by the “how can you say that till the race is run brigade”. It’s my opinion and I may be right or wrong on the day but leads to heathy discussion on these threads. By the way, Wild Illusion won’t win the Oaks

Quite frankly chaps I'm slightly more concerned with this horrific mishmash of tenses.
"Lah Ti Dar won't see which way she went"??? What a ghastly sentence. SEE ME. |

It's really just a matter of time before he sires a classic winner. He's got an outstanding chance with Wild Illusion. Lah Ti Dar won't see which way she went. new bay and night of thunder may argue with you sint |

Sea Of Class is attracting a bit of money into 11 here. A possible change of heart by connections perhaps.

By:
or he's realized she's entered in the Coronation Stakes and not the Ribbledale by mistake!
and the owner has demurred at the supplementary fee for the French Oaks... ![]() |

It's called an opinion, Charwell. And it's far better than after-timing. Lah Ti Dar.
Sorry Harry, I meant Epsom classic winners re Headmaster's comment about the sire having an ''abysmal record'' there. |

More money for Magical who's into 9 here from 12. Could be Moore induced and/or form line with Wild Illusion who's 7 here; further traction expected, I believe.
By:
fair play sint i thought you hadn't done your homework

By:
Decided to play the small bet on Magical, as if Moore does pick her and she shortens up much more I wouldn't be as interested. Only done her in a double with Roaring Lion as a way to get more money on that horse with little outlay. No strong opinion on the Oaks really, just that if Lah Ti Dar doesn't turn out to be that good Magical should go close if returning to form.
By:
There must be quite a question about Magical getting a stiff 12f on breeding?
By:
When watching her last year I thought she was more of an Oaks filly than Guineas, but unlike with Roaring Lion I don't have any real substance from the racetrack to back up my opinion, so could be wrong. I've never given that much consideration to breeding when it comes to the Oaks. I remember at the time people saying Ouija Board was unlikely to stay, Sariska was unlikely to stay, etc. If she were a short priced favourite then I'd probably consider it but I'd say the price allows for any possible doubt.
By:
she's a full sister to rhodedendron who showed much better form going into the oaks and was seemingly outstayed by enable. I wouldn't back her with stolen money.
By:
Take Enable out, one of the best 3yo middle distance fillies for years, and Rhododendron would've been an easy winner. After the race I said Rhododendron would've taken an average running of the Oaks and still hold that view. Possibly Lah Ti Dar aside, this year's race doesn't look to be any more than average and maybe even substandard. Anyway, like I said no strong opinion this year.

La Ti Dar NR ??? looking ominous been matched @ 6.4 nowt to back now 5.0
By:
Ive had a look on the internet could'nt find any mention of anything, agree it doesnt look good but then theres nothing concrete
By:
7.0 now
Nothing concrete ,but looks like 1 part cement 3 parts sand 3 parts aggregate being mixed as we speak. Shouldnt take long to set. |
By:
I don't like the look of this and have acted accordingly. Wild Illusion and Magical quickly backed to cover.
By:
Market suspended. I cashed out of a PP bet when it looked like she was possibly out
By:
OUT
By:
Concrete set accordingly.
By:
365 were a bit behind and was able to cash out 20/1 and 14/1 bets after the suspended on exchange. Betfair Sportsbook took all my 10/1 bets though (which was substantial).
Luckily WI and Magical look nice bets now. Will Sea of Class run now ? |
By:
Would have thought so. Owner wants to go Haggas slightly reticent .So that may be the lever to sway him.
By:
Sorry backers of Lah Ti Dar scratched after a poor blood count this morning. Ironically, her sister So Mi Dar was scratched very close to the Oaks too.
By:
Lah Ti Dar missed Breakfast with the Stars because the weather was too hot, now her blood's wrong...
By:
...and someone in the know laid her with impunity - how ironic!!!!!

Quite surprised you dont rate WI that much Figgis. The cheekpieces since her defeat in France have made the world of difference. They've made her much more resolute and focused. Her 4th in the Guineas on fast ground, when she could probably do with it slightly easier, and on debut was a great effort given her breeding. She could easily improve 7lb for the step up in trip. I get she's trained by Godolphin but if she were trained by Aidan for example she'd be half the odds she is (at any stage of the ante-post market).
There is a thread on here by Eric Morris bemoaning the lack of value in ante-post markets. The lack of value comes in looking at the AOB,Gosden or Stoute horses but there is value elsewhere. |

Sint, I definitely wouldn't dismiss her chances. On form shown this year hers is clearly the best. It's form good enough for a place in an average year and yes it's good enough to win in a poor year, I've seen worse. I reckon Magical's best form last year puts her slightly ahead of Wild Illusion but my pick still has to prove she hasn't completely gone backwards. I think it's because most of us are looking/hoping for a more classy winner. Something that will make a step up on the day and to me she doesn't appear likely to do that. Wouldn't be at all surprised though to see her win. I remember not fancying Entrepreneur in the Derby years ago but thinking something else would probably improve past my next highest rated, Benny The Dip, only to end up kicking myself afterwards. At the price WI is now though I'm happy to leave her.

Looks like 13 go to post with AOB fielding 8 with Magical, Magic Wand, Forever Together, Bye Bye Baby, Flattering, Athena, I Can Fly and Sizzling but no Happily; Haggas has Sea Of Class and Give And Take; Godolphin only 1 in Wild Illusion, similarly Simcock and Cox with Ejtyah and Perfect Clarity respectively.
By:
Perfect Clarity is looking a bit dodgy now. No lays apart from 1000.
Without LTD this race is looking a minefield.... |
By:
think we'll all be joining the sint train with wild illusion
![]() |
By:
Earlier it was Perfect Clarity who experienced a bit of price manipulation here but now her price has stabalised; it is the turn of Magical now (apparently) being "managed", and nothing sinister, I hope.

By:
Magical taking a ride out to 10/1 again. Filling in a joint while cantering. Decision whether she runs in the morning.
I've removed all bets with NRNB and moved to Sea of Class as Wild Illusion nicely covered between 14/1 - 8/1. Never had a rollercoaster Antepost like this before. |
By:
Without NRNB I mean.
