That's won with any amount in hand.

Will they ran him back quick?

Will he get in, even with a penalty?

33/1 I'm tempted to pay to find out.....

Why is this horse still 33/1 with one or two firms?

If it runs it goes off single figures.  If it's balloted out we get our money back.

Has Willie said he won't be confirmed on Monday?

I guess you don't back any Irish hurdlers in GB handicaps though... Sad

Hard not to be impressed and if i think they're well handicapped yes, this could have a bit in hand if it dosen't get to hammered from it's British 126

Erm...it can't be hammered old chap.  It's an early closer, the weights are set.  5lb penalty brings it up to 10st and number 46 in the list, which is a good way off the max of 24.

But Mullins is controlling the weights and has 8 horses above him...and McManus has a further 4 (although I won't pretend Modus will be sacrificed at the altar).

With a big push and a fair wind he might, maybe, sneak in....I've thrown plenty at it fully aware that he might not even survive past midday on Monday Plain

Really impressive today, won with a ton in hand but surely you would think Cheltenham would be the plan?

Let's remember Newbs is the richest h'cap hdle over here (and the richest in Europe after Galway), so it's not to be sniffed at however much we like a Festival winner.  Plus the horse could probably do with another run over hurdles before Cheltenham.  And it'll never be able to run off this mark again (for the foreseeable future).  It's not really Mullins style, but if he turned out alright tomorrow I'm not sure I could turn this down.

But he definitely won't be running...no?

agreed its worth taking 33s if you can get on. i think they will run if they get in. would be off 140+ in the county hurdle. i did think desoto county would run though!

Just so I know, Deco, is that opinion or fact and, if the latter, where's it coming from?!

Quite a bit at stake here - fanks.

dan - I've been having it with 365, my monumental bogey account.  Which is why a) I can get on and b) it probably won't be running, or at least winning, anyway.

Apparently some can't get on pennies with them but they've always been very accommodating to me (see above!) I only got referred after going in for the fourth time Sad

If the race was in Ireland I'm sure he'd turn out under a penalty - but it's a long journey 5-6 days after a race

I don't think JP needs the money, he loves a Cheltenham winner and he already has the favourite for the race. I just think it looks more like he is being lined up for the festival as he needed to win well to get in a handicap, also I think it could possibly be the Coral Cup?

Needing the money and wanting it are two different things, stj Happy

He always seems well-represented in this race, doesn't he?!

Don't wish to paint myself into a corner here though....the possibility of moth-balling for Chelters was always a danger and your CCup shout is a fair one too.

JP has one of his best novices laid out for the race every season. I can't believe he will turn down the chance to run one 10lbs well in. Maybe it will be Mullins' call, but even then, why not!?

the worst that can happen is you bet a 33/1 loser.

The race Blazer won today JP had won the last two years with horses that went on to run at Cheltenham, a pattern seems to emerge? I just think it's the timing? as easy as he won today Cheltenham will give a nice little break. JPs horses seem to peaking just in time.

Yep, young horse, could go on to be top class if they take their time with him.

Looks a great shout to me. Highly likely it will be money back, but if he does get in, I think they would find it very hard to turn down.

Had to laugh at BJG trying to pretend that he didn't have loads in hand. Even pretended to hit him in the final furlong Laugh
