@Figgis, couldn't agree with you more but want to know the horse is definitely turning up, the 5/1 looks outstanding value if he is. I thought the Fugue was off to the breeders cup, can see Deceleration of war heading across the Atlantic as well, Al Kazeem retired, Sky Lantern confirmed for Hong Kong, ROW too soon after the Arc, Magician don't think he will turn up and not good enough in my book anyway. 5/1 e/w if he was guaranteed to start looks a steal. There might only be 7/8 runners.
By:
Everybody thought The Fugue was off to the Breeders Cup thanks to the trainers comments in the press, he has now subsequently changed his mind, or perhaps, it was the intention all along. She will only not run if the heavens open.

Farhh is a top horse clearly but he is coming back from yet another set-back, not easy to do at the highest level.
Actually think Mukhadram is the ew play in the race. The break would have done him the world of good, he has been targeted at the race, and his best form is at the track/right handed. |
By:
"If" all the big guns turn up sint I cant fancy him 2 win this, place chance only if they do imo. All the reports about Farhh's wellbeing are gd, so fingers X he gets their in top form & shows it.
By:
is their anything in the public domain Millieracing?
By:
Don't you watch atr or C4 F A ?
Two gd reports on atr in the past few wks. S Bin S gave a very up-beat report on C4 last Sat. |
By:
Ah tend not to watch C4, although woke up this morning, don't watch ATR very much at all as the presenters wind me up a bit. Thanks though, couldn't find anything in the printed media, may I should have been looking on youtube

Forecast is for soft ground
Cirrus team will be happy tho. |
By:
I've got a spare for the Premier enclosure if anyone wants one, looking for around £ 50.00
By:
The Fugue & DOW unlikely to run, going is currently Soft, more intermitant rain through the week.
CDA Farhh Mukhadram Triple Threat Who else? Magician? |
By:
Magician wants it fast imo, AOB more likely to run Kingsbarns.
Hope its no worse than g/s come Sat. |
By:
You'll be lucky imo! It was Soft for last years event and at this time of year it takes longer to dry out.
By:
I think it should be around g/s. Forecast isn't too bad after tomorrow and it should drain quite well.
By:
Definitely going to be testing - looks like rain on the day of race as well.
Given testing conditions maybe Farahh is likely to be rerouted to the QEII? Happy with my 33/1 on Hillstar though - juts hope he runs now. ![]() |
By:
Well if you're right about the going, this could be a very small field turning up.
Think you might be right regarding Farhh. Cirrus could go off very short for this. |
By:
15 left in currently. A couple of interesting ones, Morandi at 33/1 given his love for soft ground but not sure if a definite runner yet.
By:
Will be very surprised if Farhh lines up against Dawn Approach in the QEII.
Champ Stks for Farhh on g/s ground (at worst hopefully) We shall see. |
By:
I backed Morandi last night at 40-1 EW with the Ray Winston mob, I would have posted but I was too busy watching the American Football (aftertime). I'm not entirely confident he will run but just hope the rain keeps coming this week, the softer the better.
I think he might have a squeak on a track that should suit, 3 yr olds have a good record in the race and Rouget knows how to get one ready for this. Morandi has got a similar profile to Literato who also came second in the Prix Du Jockey Club and then went on to win a Champion Stakes. Jean-Claude Rouget quote after Prix du Prince d'Orange “He is much better when the going is soft. His programme depends on the weather. The Champion Stakes remains an option, if the ground suits. But if that is not the case, he could not run and wait for next year instead.” |
By:
Wish I took some of the 33/1 yesterday when it was available, taken some 20's. Current going is Gs,S. 5-6mm forecast tomorrow, with sporadic showers on the other days. Should be Soft ground after tomorrow's rain which will see it at Gs,S on Saturday imo.
By:
i've had an EW double on two french horses who seem to like the soft ground, it's a cert one of them will not run but hey ho.
Morandi in the champion stakes Galvaun in the fillies and mares |

Surprised to see Mukhadram at 23's on here when he is 8/1 with the books.
By:
Possible he is not going to run, the same must be true of sky lantern who must be a doubtful runner based on Richard Hannon Jnr's comments to the racing post. Looking at the list of horses which might come out of the race I can see the current market pricing currently being under-round being compared to the final dec's
By:
Really hopes it keeps raining...another shower on Saturday morning would be nice too....last thing I'd want is that horrible sticky stuff and slow motion finishes....
By:
Haggas has said Muk will run regardless of ground. Has some form on Gs.
By:
6mm today. Going is Soft all over. Tomorrow looks decent for a drying day but possible more showers. Will be Gs,S in places on Saturday imo.
By:
Maybe Muk won't be withdrawn but the prices in the ante-post market are still wrong, just no liquidity to exploit it.
By:
Not long till the final declarations are in.
By:
Happy with Lemaire onboard, got a good record in this race! It's just a shame it's not run at Newmarket anymore.
By:
Farhh confirmed for Champion - everything in his favour, so assuming he doesn't injure himself between now and post time the 4/1 (1/4 odd 1,2,3) looks an e/w bet to nothing to me (famous last words
).Have Hillstar at 33/1 as well but with Moore choosing ROW instead it doesn't bode too well for his chances. |
By:
@Uncle yeah I felt the same. Great e/w to nothing for me also. Taken the 5s and 4s early in the week. CDA looks too short for me as much as I love the horse I think its a tougher race than all his others bar the KG.
By:
Given his injury history and the possibility of going for the QEII there was no way I was backing him antepost. He goes so well fresh that the break since the Lockinge is a positive in my book. Probably come 4th now.

By:
Hopeful for a slight break with the forecast, I would prefer the good / soft rather than soft. Be good if its windy ascot way today and we get a dry day today. Anything weather forecast that moves the ground towards him and away from CDA would be a bonus at this stage.
By:
just playing devils advocate, will Farhh def see out the ten,on this going?
By:
@sj would be my slight worry. Ran Nathaniel to half a length at Sandown in the Eclipse, on good to soft, would like to it to be at least that on Saturday. Ascot does dry fairly quickly these days. Could argue his best form efforts were all on GF, tbf the horses seconds are to all the right horses, there are plenty of G1 winners winning those races.
By:
The straight track dries quicker than Swinley Bottom.
By:
cheers FA,its my doubt about him, there is enough pace in the race to suggest it will be a test
By:
correct sint, sometimes its soft on the round course and good coming into the straight
By:
its trciky in that if they went slow up front then the softish going might not be much of a blunt on his speed as the straight track ground may well be better, if they went very hard up front then agree this may have inconvenienced Farhh more than any other horse. I am going to @ Ascot so wont be able to play the fractional timings I am sure that there will be plenty of the in-running guys factoring this in. If they haven't gone hell for leather then the I'd be positive on the straight track playing to his finishing speed.
I am genuinely of the view that its drier the better for him the next few days. |
