You seem to have difficulty understanding ante post betting and common sense. Well done though Roob, at least you put your money where your mouth is even though Dundonnell and Toronado have no chance.

Come come, lads.
Bring back the comedy stylings of eric_morris, I say. :) |
|
By:
The two horses I backed I did so lady year at 33/1 and 25/1 and btw Dundinnell isn't one if them.
If the race was run tomorrow, I'd much rather back Toronado at 33/1 than DA at 7/4 and that to me is what ap is about. |
|
By:
Ante Post is about taking a price with the hope of it shortening to the extent where the risk was worth it. Backing a 7/4 shot 6 weeks before a race when it could be 6/4 on the day makes no sense. You move the goalposts in every debate. Go and learn common sense and then get back to me.

Graeme you seem to be rude to people just for the sake of it. Don't know why but it must make you feel worthy for some reason.
|
|
By:
That's rich coming from you Sintonian, because i've saw you at the centre of quite a few prolonged fights on here with individuals that have spanned months, if not longer. I'm not being rude. I have stated my opinion on who will win the race, and what i think ante post value is. Roob and the rest of the clique think that using smiley faces validates a point, as if every debate is a winner and loser competition. I'm not here to make mates, i'm here to talk about horse racing. At least i thrown my number into the draw. There are some ammount of people who don't have a strong opinion on here, and they are the ones who i refer to as Septic Peg punters. The winner might be the favourite, or it might not be the favorite.

Tbf the people I get into rows with are the people who are unnecessarily rude and abusive. You have resorted to name calling in the first instance, on a number of occasions.
You also appear to be on a bit of a punting moral crusade aswell. Who cares if you have an opinion? We all do. Everybody has an a5sehole aswell. And in case you can't read, the people you are actually getting into slanging matches with put their bets on and have opinions. Well done for lowering the tone of the thread though. |
|
By:
Yeah that's right, you are the board hero. Everytime you go on and on and on for months or years with your fighting and grudge matches, the board absolutely love it Sintonian, because your virtual morality stands above everyone elses on the board. People don't come on here for horses, they only come on here because they look forwards to you obsessing over Eric Morris for about the past decade * thumbs up *

Graeme I barely post on here mate but your coming across as a childish bellend to be honest mate.
|
|
By:
I'm not your mate, and as i stated previously, i'm not here to make mates. Thank you for your opinion. Maybe people should keep it guineas, because i'm not really interested what people think about what i type. I'm changing nothing.

Your posts are about 10% Guineas and 90% bile that nobody wants to read though, thats the problem.

Graeme83 thinks the favourite is nigh on sure to win but doesn't want to back it at the current price?
Surely similar logic applied to all of us throughout the year with Sprinter Sacre in the QM, and equally applied to me, and I'm sure most others, with Frankel a coupe of years ago in the Guineas. Just because I think a horse will almost certainly win (though of course there is no such thing as a 'racing certainty') that doesn't mean I'll back it regardless. But just because I haven't backed something doesn't stop me saying it's close to a cert though. |
|
By:
It's also how i see it unclepuncle. What i also think though, is that because they're annoyed with how i post, they secretly want me to lose money, and as a result they are really annoyed that i haven't backed Dawn approach, even though i think he will win. Who is taking 7/4 on a horse 6 weeks before a race when he might be near that price on the day ? i tried to improvise and throw the horse into an accumulator, but the other horse in the accy is only priced up with PP who i told where to go a while back, and Stan James who are 6/4 on DA anyway, so i'm snookered even if i would take the price. At least i have an assured opinion and will be willing to back the horse. I think the player haters are in the 'he might win or he might not win' camp.

Also, when i first formed my opinion that D.A was the horse i liked for this particular race, he was something like 8/1. Any ante post punter knows how akward it is taking a short price on something you previously liked at bigger odds.
|
|
By:
Actually don't disagree with his approach at all uncle, I suspect he will be about 2:1 on the day if he doesn't run beforehand, if not a little bigger.
The points I have made have been regarding the price and I have challenged the rationale used in determining he is a cert. But instead of engaging in debate insults are thrown instead. However as soon as someone comes on agreeing with him, a more reasoned reply ensues. He acts like a spoilt child and now apparently i don't want him to win and I don't like him having an opinion. I simply would respect it more if he had backed it ( why not at 8s I ask myself ) or engaged in a discussion. But no, it's my opinion or nothing. |
|
By:
Rubbish again Roob. Your original reply was to use laughing faces, now you are moving the goalposts to say you actually agree because someone else has agreed with me, and shown you and Sintonian to be hypocrites, if you indeed didn't back Frankel ante post. You keep on moving the goal posts in a debate, such as saying maybe Bolger can't train 2 y/o because you had nowhere else to go in the debate. You, and Sintonian, are snakes in the grass. We have saw that you both take interest in prices that other people have for whatever reason. Anyway, i won't be engaging in debate with either of you. If anyone else wants to debate racing with me then fine, if not just ignore my posts and get on with the race talk.

The bin is a wonderful place. In it fester people who cry and get upset at the slightest of things. Those 2 will go in there out of respect for the board. The jealous snakes can slither in it. ![]() |

Big,big LOL at Graeme. I doubt he can read very well because if he could he might be able to see just how ego-centric his posts are.
I don't even remember a single winning bet the man has put up tbh, Yet his posts are full of it. Anyone remember a winner from Graeme, just for the record? Snakes, septics, fools, fencesitters, people without opinions, eh??? Where is the Proof of your genius please Bonzo?? Genuine question, i'd love to know. |

Despite highlighting the good value of DA at 8/1 and again at 5/1 in this thread I only have him a couple of small stakes doubles (with Just The Judge in the 1,000 @ 16/1, and Telescope for the Derby @ 20/1) so I'm already kicking myself for not piling in.
![]() My only single is on Moohajim @ 25/1 bit don't fancy him at all now and I'm just trying time my lay off at the right price. |
|
By:
Long range weather forecast is for it to stay cold and dry until middle of April (so hopefully the ground firms up for Moohajims Greenham run and he can win impressively
) but then meant to turn milder and wetter for the rest of the month? |

i need dawn run to win the guineas to collect the following bet and i really fancy my chances.

grw123 - Can you point us to the thread where you recommended this bet to us please?
Or are you aftertiming in a completely shameless manner? |
|
By:
I don't know if it was grw and if it was this actual bet , bit deffo remember an accumulator involving Gold Cheongsam and Sir Graham Wade.
However didn't think you could combine day of race markets with ap? Has that changed? |
|
By:
how on earth could you ever recommend a bet like this to anyone, they would think you had lost your marbles, nevertheless it is how i choose to bet and when it pays off it does so big time.
i am not now nor never will i ever be a tipster as that brings a diffrent sort of pressure to the situation and would probably lead to alternative selections. there would be a few days in the year when i look at the days racing and see three or four horses that i think will win, i usually put them in a treble or fourtimer then bet the same horses in larger accummulators to small stakes on horses which i have targeted that will run at the festivals. this method has served me very well over a number of years now and has already paid handsomely this year having collected a £20 accummulator on the above selections minus dawn approach and bobs worth and a £10 accummulator on the above selections minus dawn approach. in addition i have a £10 accummulator on the above substituting dawn approach with mars for the derby this one more speculative perhaps should it come off will pay in excess of £183,000. one of the two would do! |

or believe it when I see it, even.

Have actually had a small stakes 'saver' on Mars. Clearly have to be huge doubts and in reality the price is too short for an AW maiden winner. But I guess if anyone could bring a horse to do it then AOB is one.
