Would be quite interested in Carruthers if it came up soft or heavy.  However, best to stick to second season chasers(improvers) in this race. Works out year after year(Denman exception). Wymott, Sarando,Vino Griego, Aiteen Thirtythree  and Wayward Prince fit the bill for me in that order.

worcester 20th oct 2010,fred rimell memorial novice chase,won by the giant bolster,only 5 runners,but the 4 horses finnishing behind bolster have never raced since,dont know why,

will ruby choose michel le bon over1833?

I must admit to not having a particularly strong view about anything in the race this year but,I've been surprised by how little I've read or heard about Wayward Prince for this.

I had him ahead of 1833 & Wymott in last seasons novice pecking order. Planet of Sound if returning at his best would be the other one for me as I think the dry forecast should mean he gets his ground as well, he's been pretty disappointing recently but at the price he's worth a shot

That is exactly the type of horse you want for this race though CCM !

I respect Joncol too and if he does run you'd like BJG to ride again ..

Wayward Prince interests me too Resnar, and I have just fired off an email to the trainer to see if he will be confirmed.

Joncol has accepted and will race off top weight of 11st 6lbs because H.DERHAM claims 7lbs on NEPTUNE COLLONGES.

I'm the same, took the 20s Joncol but i'll believe he is a definate runner when i see him at the start. Also backed Wymott @ 14s when the weights came out and really confident in his chances.

I really don't see any negatives for Great Endeavour other than I didn't back it for the PP

We now know he is well handicapped and I am certain he will stay around Newbury.

I think he will be put to sleep early on and come thru to win.

Has a lovely racing weight and his run over hurdle vs an in form Lie Forit showed he stayed well imo and Chelt is much stiffer than here ( One Man )

Often we overlook the obvious imo and he is the one for me.

Wayward Prince could be the big improver and has form at the highest level and fto could be the time to catch him so he would be my idea of a saver.

Beshabar has to be backed over staying trips this year but I know they are not over facing him early as the GN is the target and 20/1 is a very good price should he get there, this horse would stay 5 miles and at a great gallop to boot.

Pretty pleased with my Nicholls pair and could probs back another on the day if I wish. Michel Le Bon is such a nice horse and has a feather weight. It's a big ask but I would be very surprised if he isn't pretty well in. 1833 looks short enough now but was value beforehand I think. He has been trained with this race in mind for a couple of seasons & his 2nd to Somersby was a great run given Kempton and a shorter trip is never going to suit a big galloper like him. Wayward Prince is the one I'm slightly concerned about as a danger. I just think that long straight could really play to his strengths.

Joncol and Carruthers will not run unless soft or heavy. Not a lot of rain forecast and currently good, g/s in places so draw your own conclusions. That leaves 17 max. Anyone wanting to bet on the race (esp each way) needs to be getting off their arris'es now.

I have Great Endeavour covered nice bet at 8/1 but went in for another one tonight.

Meets most of the key trends. I started off wanting to back (always dangerous) 1833 BUT knew I had never really been that switched on by him, even having seen him bolt up in his last slowly ran race at Newbury. He was bought to win this race, that's a fact but if you look through his race record he's best dominating small and inferior fields.

In the RSA where he set the pace but then had horses serve it up to him and put him under pressure he didn't really stay with them when push came to shove. Just watching that race back tonight confirmed to me that I honestly think Jessie's Dream is the call in next years Gold Cup but the one to take out of the RSA for the Hennessy is (step forward) WAYWARD PRINCE.

My only concern about this fella is first time out fitness BUT let's face it, McCain handed most of the credit to IAN WILLIAMS for WEIRD AL'S performance to come out and win the Charlie Hall first time out, so I think concerns on that front can be very well answered.

AP McCoy likely to take the ride given the lack of rain and the expected no show of Joncol for Nolan.

The one thing this horse will do, in a track whose gruelling finishing straight can be brutal in this race, is stay. I think he's the one this year. Been targeted specifically at this race, I think he'll go off 8/1 or lower come the day.

Managed to get some on at 10/1.
