Couldn't possibly know what was going on in the trainers mind, but I
expect it was part of his schedule, how many M/Cups has BART CUMMINGS won, 12/13, so I would say that it was the plan, he ran ALL of his MC winners within a very short period between his prep race and the actual race and to say that a 2 million pound race was an afterthought just does NOT make sense. |
By:
Its funny how things go HM, The same 2 years i backed consecutive winners of the Ayr Gold Cup(Not so Silly and So Careful ante post at 33-1) and Two arc winners in Trempolino and Tony Bin and have never had a sniff since in both races
![]() id be pretty parched after 20 odd years if i had to rely on those races ![]() |

AOB will want a crawl for SYT but a serious pace on for SNA. I guess you must assume they want SYT to win more than SNA so the suitable tactics for him will prevail.
One thing I detest about the AOB operation - the way they invariably have a phalanx of runners and effectively work as a team in these group 1s. |
By:
johnnyrant, all the o'brien horses left in have all won Group 1 races,do they not deserve to be in the race just because their all in the same ownership??
By:
Shareta will pacemake wont she ?
By:
Team tactics of Coolmore gang is an issue. I note that Godolphin have multiple entries in almost all races this year and they are doing much better than they have in a long time. Cant say I have noted any obvious tactical shinanegans though.
By:
I think thats a misconception that Coolmore will want a crawl for there newly found 10f specialist, the horse will stay 12f just aswell as the others - a crawl would only result in SYT pulling harder than he usually does.
SNA to sit handy 2 off the rail, wound up round the bend and holds on a 1/2 length. |
By:
In my perception, AOB usually wants an even gallop -- so he has one to the lead early, another to take it up mid race and another to close if that one doesnt stay. SNA with Shareta on the lead. TB and Danedream stalk. Seems possible. But the draw will determine much.

Is Stoute threatening to pull Workforce out? Some shrewdies reckon he wants fast ground but the big man - he say no!
By:
@ Bazzar, you really should understand aussie racing first. Bart Cummings had other MC horses, he never expected SYT to be one. Coming into the spring no one knew he was such a freak.

What????? Mr Bart Cummings...the 'Cup King'....the Grandfather of the Turf.....greatest trainer ever to draw breath etc.etc. ...... didn't know how good So You Think was??????
HERESY (NAP) |

Just back in. I didn't realise there was (yet) another declarations stage. Holy Moley!
These French boyos like to build up the tension, don't they? My nervous energy is almost spent! I suppose we can assume that Meandre, Danedream and MM will actually run ![]() |
By:
BART knew alright that's why SO YOU THINK started favourite.
By:
It's like Schiergen knew that DANEDREAM was pretty god and time would prove him right, he is not a duckegg trainer nor his jockey a duckegg either.

Has O'brien got a jockey yet for SYT?
...............Yawn. ![]() |
By:
What a race we have in store. As usual I made plans to go but lazyness has overtaken. Shame there's no Deep Impact to screw the PMU. Went off 1.5 didn't he on the PMU?
![]() |
By:
I'd agree O'Brien will want an even or generous pace.
So You Think massively vulnerable anyway IMO but especially so if they crawl, the closers would kill him then. Treasure Beach long odds on to be pushing near the pace, maybe even go on. |
By:
Surely WF must run? Doesn't Stoutie need a good winner?
By:
Oh well, cant wait to see Sarafina STUFFED, and Danedream winning easily.
Sarafina has no chance at all of winning the Arc, i cant believe how many mugs there are thinging shes the best horse in the race. its so pathetic! |
By:
thinking even
By:
Any bookies taking bets @ PMU SP?
By:
Dont mean to be rude, but I will give up the game if Danedream wins this.
By:
Sinndar001, any street bookmaker will take pari mutuel bets , just stipulate it on your bet, but it will be the returned pari mutuel.

I love it when people have such strong opinions.

SYT could have a very interesting end of season...reading the north american news.

By:
Have backed the two nip horses.

not sure how snow fairy can be shorter than sna.
thats just plain f kin lunacy. midday smashed snow fairy twice snow fairy gets close to syt and people think its improved....even the trainer said it hasnt. the markets all wrong imo id be seriously wary of any 3yr old who likes fastish ground |
By:
also what price would midday be if she was in this ?
bearing in mind shes smashed snow fairy and got beat by sna??? |
By:
Everything thats won in france looks too short and the ones they beat all look too big
By:
Can't see Danedream getting anywhere near.Beating substandard fields in weak German group one races is light years away from winning this or any years arc.Meandre is overpriced given the recent dominance of three year olds in the race and that he comes from what traditionally is the leading trial.Don't read too much into that defeat he had reportedly missed a gallop in the lead up to the Niel and its also worth considering that even the mighty Peintre Celebre got beat in the Niel before making no mistake for Monsieur Fabre in the big race on the day that mattered.Hiruno d'amour is overpriced especially in relation to Sarafina
By:
The big difference when Peintre Celebre and others were beaten in their trials was they were caught out by a dawdling gallop, Meandre had no such excuse.
By:
Apart from the fact he was short of work and would not have been suited by the softening conditions?
