2 runner race so you think and twice over
By:
May be a walkover for So You Think
![]() |
By:
You might see a decent race but it won't be the Juddmonte.
So You Think, Twice Over, Planteur, Sajjhaa and Sri Putra imo. Perhaps O'Brien will send two over and pick up first and second place prize money. |
By:
So you think,Planteur,Twice over,Sri putra and a couple of pace makers and that is your lot i would think
By:
pity frankel isnt in it

4.6 last priced matched frankel.

Await The Dawn could go for this. He will be aimed at a Group 1 over 10f so it will either be the Juddmonte at York or one of the Irish/English Champions Stakes.
By:
Will this fall into the lap of Twice Over.
By:
Thats what I was thinking El Apache, Thought the price looked good as I'm not sure that anything at the head of the market will actually run
By:
Although I see the price has now gone!
By:
Await the Dawn....hopefully will run and should absoulutely hack up.
By:
Await The Dawn has been left in the Royal Whip Stakes at the Curragh on Sunday.
I think he'll run there and So You Think will go for the Juddmonte International. |
By:
AWD is entered for the Royal Whip stakes G2 soon. He'll win that then be aimed for this or the Irish Champion. SYT will contest the other.
Basically, AOB will win both Irish Champion and International at York. |
By:
I would have So You Think for the Irish Champion Stakes.
They always run their best their. AWD-Royal Whip, Juddmonte and maybe even English Champion stakes before Breeders Cup Classic?? is that asking too much. Juddmonte looks a weak race, best chance he ever have of picking up a Group 1 with minimum fuss. |
By:
I thought - before reading this thread - that SYT would take in the two races, Juddmonte and the Irish Champion.
Not really sure about ATD but had begun to think that they were going to give him an easy campaign and then unleash him in the Classic!! |
By:
Surely they will run him a G1 first before sending him to America. The horse has not been tested in one yet.
6/4 here currently for SYT .. if he runs probably 4/6 on the day. |
By:
A European Group 1 is a must. Not a must for Stallion Purpose's because he stand state side but a must because he is well good enough to win one.
Problem with this is AOB has given sweet **** all away about what he is doing with his best horses. Seems they have left the best ones off until the Autumn campaign and given them all a good break. I also got the impression 2 more runs but if their serious about going to oz may only be one. |
By:
I would be surprised if SYT went to Australia. So far the only evidence that he will go back Down Under is APOB listing it as an option after his Eclipse win, and an entry for the race.
10 days from Royal Whip Stakes (should he run there?) to Juddmonte would seem on the short side especially for Ballydoyle. And as you say, they always run their best horse in the Irish Champion. So I'm in a lot of minds as to where ATD runs. |
By:
He is in the Royal Whip and isn't that a race sponsered by Keenland meaning its a win and your in for the Breeders Cup?
He must pitch up their so. |
By:
Not a cat in hells chance of SYT going back to Aus. It's a load of pie in the sky.
By:
The Spring carnival means he start covering straight away once he finishes running in one of the races mentioned today.
By:
Good point Ruby!
By:
The Pretty Polly (Misty for Me) and the Irish Champion Stakes are the only two Irish races that gets you automatic entry and travel allowance to the Breeders Cup.
Await The Dawn pulled out of the Champion Stakes the night before the race last year and with the amount of prize money on offer on Champions Day likely to decide who becomes Champion trainer it must be his main aim this year. There'd be a lot of goodwill for Coolmore (and orders) if they allowed SYT to takes his chance in the Cox Plate. He'd be able to take in The Irish Champion before going into quarantine. |
By:
So you Think is a definate runner in the Juddmonte and he is almost certain to run in the Irish Champion stakes also,
Await the dawn is highly likely to run at the curragh on sunday and is being kept away from any serious tests in group 1 company until the Breeders cup classic, that is the only goal that matters to connections and he is being kept very fresh for that |
By:
Cape Blanco would be an obvious one to go there IMO
but on a going day he might beat So You Think and they wouldn't want that |
By:
Cape Blanco is goin to Arlington.
Not sure what APOB is going to run. Twice Over is now back on track and looks the one. |
By:
Cape Blanco will go to America then Australia, he has a Cox Plate nom and I'd be surprised if they didn't take it up. The race is worth about as much as the Irish economy.
SYT for both Champion Stakes and AWD for the International and the Breeders. |
By:
The Form Man - Interesting post - exactly what I was thinking. You sound quite persuasive too! Is it fact or just you're opinion that SYT goes Juddmonte/Irish Champion and ATD is kept away from any serious race until the Classic?

By:
This race is falling apart.
Await the Dawn has never even run in a G1. |
By:
I just got the feeling that SYT would not run in this race.
It will have to be AWD now |
By:
A definate runner TFM said ..
By:
could they run sna, to try and get the 10 furlong group1 on his cv, especially now as this race is winnable for anything bordering on group3 class
By:
SNA is not entered.
By:
the Champions Stakes at Ascot could cut up aswell..
By:
here's an interesting snippet:
By:
How much would it be to supplement SNA.
Definitely worth a poke. |
By:
O'Brien's entries account for almost a third of the current total (6 of 20) but you think it's worth a poke him supplementing a horse that needs every inch of 12 furlongs?
By:
SNA more stamina than speed imo.
Apparently Midday might have a crack at this which would make things intersting. |
