7/1 for Great Endeavour is not good value. Its looking like being one of the best renewals in years. i expect Great Endeavour will be bigger than 7/1 on the day.
By:
Im not so sure Meat Loaf. Im not saying it wont be a good renewel, but i think there are only 4/5 that have a serious chance of winning.
Its interesting that Great Endeavour was always shorter than Sunnyhill Boy on here, yet bigger with the bookies, until today. Great Endeavour & Copper Bleu for me, i just hope Philip Hobbs can get him ready in time. |
By:
Long Run 3/1
Tranquil Sea 5/1 Copper Bleu 8/1 The rest 10/1 or bigger imo |
By:
On reflection Tranquil Sea will be a lot bigger as didn't realise he has gone up 16lb since winning it last year.
It will be interesting what Twiston Davies runs as he always has one in the frame. |

1. Why Great Endeavour now only 5's - anything specific behind the move ?
2. Who will ride him ? Danny Cook (DJ has a soft spot for this lad who is a good jock) or TJ ? Presumably the other gets to ride Chapoturgeon. 3. Long Run's Stunt jock fell off Otage de Brion in a race I saw a few days ago - easy to slate him, looked like he faltered under pressure at the last but let's not tempt fate. Anyone else agree he simply just might bodge it at Chelters ? Clearly trying to get his eye in though so fairplay to him for his many recent rides. 4. O'Grady may also be aiming Osana and another fella at this as well as Tranquil Sea - what do we make of that ? 5. Poquelin - wants it quick IMVHO as witnessed Saturday. Likely to get it here ? 7's GE is looking good. There is one at double figures who may run if we get rain according to trainer and I'll back him as well. |

Anyone else think Catch Me could be big threat here ?
By:
Yes.
Entered on Saturday in the Poplar Chase. |
By:
ah just seen the story - didn't know he was injured.
You check that Irish form out. I REALLY fancy Pandorama on soft for the Hennessey. Look at Catch Me back in third when he beat Weapons Amnesty then, and then look at China Rock behind him. That race is rock solid. Bodes well for Catch Me and for Pandorama. From the tone of O'Grady's comments there I think that Catch Me isn't expected to win this weekend but will come on for the run ... Dangerous. |

By:
Price has collapsed on here I note.
By:
What mark will Catch Me get in off lads ? only 3 irish runs over fences ?

I think Great Endevour is a cracking horse and asked for him to be added to the Gold Cup market such is my belief that he will be top class. That said I wanted more than the 200s that was available (now 100s) and the 7s for the PP 1 month before the race was also to short for me.
I still think he will most probably win but value has to be the key and he is simply not value at the moment. |

but if catch me has a run before the pp, that could have an impact on the weight he receives. With the major bookmakers priced up now surely each horse should have an OR now?

Or NO Ballyfitz or Chapoturgeon for that matter
By:
vinnie,
Catch Me runs Saturday 30th (penalties only apply after that date !) I've allowed a +6 before the PP from the English H/capper ! |
By:
Also Jonjo stated wants to get run b4 for Sunnyhillboy so imagine he may be doubtful?
No Copper which is shame,Great Endeavour at 8s looks ok at mo, saver nearer day on Mad Max maybe? |
By:
Theres something going on with Sunnyhillboy, surely Jonjo cant be being honest and upfront with us?
By:
just came on here to see if anyone fancies catch me can't go off 16/1 surely? :)
By:
Catch Me will be punished by the English handicapper. They won't want an Irish horse winning two years on the trot.
By:
Its looking like a very good race. I fancy a couple of horses on marks of 140. I'm not convinced they will get into the race though. what do you think the cut off will be as a lot of the Irish horses haven't got marks yet?

Fisher bridge could be one at a big price if turning up.

By:
vin,
33's,25's,20's and expect the 16's to disappear shortly ! |

Long Run - fitness doubts post Barbers. And did anyone else pick up on the fact that according to NJH's column he has not even been schooled yet over fences ? We are little over 2 weeks away now - have those jumping muscles been used recently ?
As a BS backer I was devastated today. As a backer of Possol and for deserting David Pipe I am now in pieces. But as a Great Endeavour backer against Long Run I am taking some solace. Come on Pipe Team we know that after today GE will absolutely spot on for the Paddy Power. |
By:
Radium won well for the Henderson team yesterday.
What did we make of Catch Me's run yesterday .. ? |
By:
just a public school wasnt asked to quicken with ccb, suppose that will sharpen him up now for the PP
By:
As a Catch Me backer (nicked some of the early 25s :p), I was happy with the run, should be set up perfectly for the big one.
By:
Decent enough blow out for him, but was a shade disappointed he didnt stay on a bit better and close on the 2nd.
Still, a couple of weeks left and 100% confident EOG will have him spot on. |
