Mabait, ante-post favourite for the Royal Hunt Cup, has been ruled out of the race by trainer Luca Cumani.
Beaten only a neck in the Victoria Cup at Ascot, it was thought he would return to Berkshire for the prestigious handicap. However, after running with credit to finish third in the Diomed Stakes at Epsom last week, Cumani is planning to miss the annual cavalry charge. "Mabait is in good form but he won't be going to Ascot," said the trainer. "I've got nothing in mind for him yet. "There's a Group race in Ireland at the Curragh in early July, a Group Three race and he might go for that." While Mabait has been ruled out of the Royal meeting, Cumani has given the green light to both Purple Moon and recent Redcar winner Forte Dei Marmi. "Purple Moon will definitely be going for the Gold Cup after his run at York and Forte Dei Marmi will run in the Wolferton after winning the Zetland Gold Cup," added Cumani. |

Marajaa seems to relish good ground, on a career high mark but looks in great shape.
Anyone else think Manassas is worth another go if it was good to firm? |

No way I would get involved with one of these Cumani hype machines like so many do.
Al Khaleej for me...I have bet this at 16/1 and a trixie with Hawkeyethenoo 16/1 and High standing at 16/1 |

the over the cliff method, backed up by been well weighted in a race he,s ran well in,in the past and trained by a trainer with a good record in these cavalray charges, brings me down on DOCOFTHEBAY

Platinni - Riggins runs as long as there is a bit of juice in the ground. Wont run if all good to firm.

Credit Swap appears to have been laid out for this .
Needs a fast run straight mile so the race should be run to suit . Just the 2 runs so far this season , a pipe-opener followed by an outing over the wrong trip at Chester . Will wait for the day of the race to see going & draw . |

BOOKMAKERS are fearful of being hit for the second year running by a Jeremy Noseda-trained horse in the Royal Hunt Cup after support for the stable's lightly-raced handicap Stoic led to the layers taking early evasive action.
The Highclere-owned Stoic, not seen in public since failing to score in three starts at Meydan in February, will be Ryan Moore's mount in a contest last season captured by heavily-backed stablemate Forgotten Voice, who once again returns for Wednesday's handicap. Paddy Power and William Hill went 14-1 (from 16 and 20) about Stoic, **** and Stan James 16-1 (from 20) and Coral, who were already bottom price at 12-1, now have him as their 10-1 third favourite. Highclere spokesman Harry Herbert said: "Stoic has done really well since Dubai and this has always been the plan. Everything seems to have gone to plan and his recent work has been very good." |

From the Cumani website:
Axiom faces a tough task in the Hunt Cup as he is 12lb higher now than he was last year when only sixth, so Acrostic probably has better possibilities in that race seeing as he at least is still a little bit unexposed, though all in all it’s difficult to be much more than hopeful |

Done my brief stats look today on the top 40, the stats i used were;
Age 4-5 90-105 OR 1-3 runs season 2+ handicap runs 18 or less runs Won over 8f+ Won a handicap Place in Class2+ or won class 3 this season Never run in a Group Race Never won a class a Best RPR this season 100+ RPR this season 20- 49 day break Ran in Class2+ lto/ won class 3 Top 2 season Won 11+ field Placed 16+ field 9/10 winners scored 15+/18 on this - exception ceasare.... Those that do this year are; Riggins, Dandy Boy, Bangalore Gold, Suruor, Tiger Reigns, Marajaa and December Draw Bangalore Gold - Likely NR Suruour - Small horse, trainer has stated before big field might not suit Tiger Reigns - Has the class? Trainer stated he's not as good on a straight course December Draw - Couldn't really have it on form.... Had my first bet on RIGGINS, also will on the day probably have a bet on MARAJAA, as an exposed 8yo doesn't seem like a royal hunt winner, but 3lbs better off with Dandy Boy over a furlong further i'd rather have a bet on him at 2.5x the price. Last season Invisible Man was favourite for the Cambridgeshire looking like a group horse before an appalling effort at Goodwood during which he looked to have sustained an injury. Put away for the winter he's come back with two debatable attempts while Goldolphin were in rank form.
He likes straight tracks and I'm fairly convinced 20/1 is too big and that the money will come for him prior to the race. |

I think draw is fine for Riggins in 22 - high supposed to be better and most of fancied runners that side - should be able to get cover, before sweeping to the front 1 out to score by 3! - Come on the Riggins!
