Holland don't go far wrong when he gets one on to the big stage .. Very good final  I thought sally ran a stormer tonight as well Happy Fook knows , smash break wins it , off a level top leads ?  Cracking final and been a cracking Comp .    With Ted since start,  will play 5 as well in final , G luck to all involved all dogs safe and sound will be great . Puzzled as to why people are being so negative towards Explosive Boy's chances, not sure the draw could have been any better for him and due to the fact Sally is directly outside Susie means Explosive Boy is the best drawn (for me anyway).
Of course Susie can offset the problem of Sally if she smashes but no railer wanted to be drawn directly inside her.

I've only just this minute watched the race for the first time and a red card for that is very fierce to put it mildly.

Susie now favourites with the firms, last of the 11/4 went yesterday.

Susie Saphire - 5/2 ( General)
Explosive Boy - 11/4 ( Unibet)
All About Ted - 3/1  ( Boyles / Unibet
Jackslittlething - 9/2 - ( Betfred / Boyles)
Singalong Sally - 14/1 - ( Unibet)
Carigeen North - 25/1 - ( General)

Susie may well go off jolly on the night and that seems fair enough to me as if she does manage to have one more smash break in the locker that will ( he says hopefully) be good enough to make all.

I can't remember looking so much forward to a race in many a year. Let's hope it's a clean race with no hard luck stories and all get home safe and sound.

Ian Fortune, who in my opinion is the absolute best in the business as a caller and a pundit, has suggested that Explosive Boy may well lead around the first bend and not be caught.
Also that he thinks he'll go off as jolly and maybe shorter than 2/1 on the night.

I don't know about that at all, I'd have 1 and 6 ahead personally but we'll see.

I don't have an interest and won't be having one either but the stripes has been hugely favoured in Irish Derbies in recent times - four final winners alone in the last eight years I think - and unless Jack blazes out again - then Ted in six has to be bang in contention on the run down.  Trouble inside looks likely so he'll have every chance.  I hope every dog, in every race comes home sound.  Last year was sickening to watch.

Anyone else a bit surprised that the price of Singalong Sally has been steady all week, only 14' s in a place and 12's generally in the village. 16.5 on here to lay for buttons not taken when they suspended the market just now. Just thinking out loud that I thought she'd be a bit bigger.

Some hot favs. look good at SPk but so short they can't be bet.  Books could take a tanning there tonight if the weather and going holds.

Biggest race of the year and not even a place market on here. Yet at some place called Cannington there is a win, place, AVB, exacta and quinela available.

I can’t see many people wanting to back and lay place forecast markets etc on Irish dog racing

Too iffy afraid

When: 18 Sep 21 16:11
Why wouldn't people bet in a place market in the Irish Derby final?  May as well not bother at all if you can't take money on the biggest race of the year.
By:
SlippyBlue
When: 18 Sep 21 16:20
You'd think they would have all markets set up, win, place, forecasts, special bets like distance groups, winning time etc. It doesn't take much imagination and planning to provide this. It's absolutely laughable beyond words how inept this non performance is.

Fred just pushed Explosive Boy to 7/2 online and in the shops for those interested. Hard to imagine it will be bigger than that come race time on here.

I agree - another final dominated by first bend trouble.  Can't take anything from the winner though - fantastic run by her.  What an achievement.
