Cracking Final , Bale not right , at least we have decent Derby and Venue .Long may it last ..
By:
Flanked by modest starters, Bocko away and gone, unless Killmacdonnagh can muster a break, then it could be close at the finish
Doubt very much Mucky will start like that again |
By:
As said Aug 25th, Killmacdonagh 2nd best result, now Bale gone
Run Happy only breaks even |

Good luck to all the finalists. Make no mistake this is the premier derby in our hemisphere. Run round a proper dog track. Lets hope mr ponder gets his derby winner. Put so much into the game. Also on a purely selfish level it will substatially increase my bank balance.
looking forward to meeting up with some of the forum reprobates. As always the craic will be mighty. |

Massive for Bocko that imo, if there was a cchance of a problem at trap rise it would have been 4 turning right into him |

By:
Be a chocker not to Get paid but when it says ew the 6, I suppose they could settle as a Loser
![]() |
By:
Surely they pay as the hound has made the last 6??
By:
Will he Get the 6th Place Prize Money from the Sponsors , I would imagine so ...
By:
Dont think so, i assume because your dog didnt finish in the first six, a goodwill gesture would be all you can hope
for imo, let us know Case. Good Luck. ![]() |

By strict interpretation, it says 6 places of which Our Surprise wouldn't be amongt them. That could be said of a dnf, too?

@casemoney, there was a rule introduced in the 1980's which stated "prizemoney payable to competing greyhounds only" therefore when any greyhound was withdrawn from a competition the owner received no prizemoney even the amount up to the point of withdrawal. Then an ex English trainer who had moved to Ireland had a Greyhound in the Puppy Derby final in Harold's Cross and as a result of a thunder storm on the night of the Final , he got caught in a huge traffic jam and was late for weigh in. The trainer / owner was told they would not receive any prizemoney as the greyhound did not compete in the Final. They stated they would take legal action if they were not paid the unplaced Finalists prizemoney and the rumour later on was that they were eventually paid the unplaced Finalists prizemoney. At the close of entries for the Irish Greyhound Derby , I don't recall seeing this rule on the advertisements , so maybe the owner of Our Surprise , will be paid the unplaced Finalists prizemoney ??

By:
Only a couple of markets up on Oddschecker , Has summat happened ??

i was always under the impression you had to turn up and run in final, to get paid on first six ew, a bit harsh but i'm sure that's their rules.
There was a rumour droops agassi wouldn't run the year bypass byway done the clock, but he made it thankfully and we got paid. He ran below par but he wouldn't have beaten the winner that night even at his best form. |
By:
Just read sporting press, **** are paying out on the non runner ew first 6, other firms are not, notably bet365, that rpgtv mob should pull cooney and ladbrokes for it, and if you are a regular in ladbrokes shops they have a discretion allowed up to a monkey they can pay, which might be justified in this case.
By:
in my opinion for betting purposes......if you made the draw and were allocated a trap you qualify as last six and should be paid accordingly........

How far behind coming out of the 2nd bend does Kilmacdonagh have to be to realistically pick up Bocko? Or is it a case of Bocko leads he wins regardless?
By:
Had a good bet clonbrien prince plate. Thought go round behind blue east in second place. Prove to strong from second bend in. Was on 11/4 earlier in week. S.p. now. Had a bet redzer ardfert 11/2 imo to big at those odds. Also backed sporting riviera 6/1 n 5/1 think this bitch be seen to better effect over further. Plum draw. Fav parked out in stripes not avin her out there.

Ridiculous from betfair not to have a place market on the final. Do they even know the 2141 race is the Derby final?
By:
My apologies as they now have a place market up and running.
