Well done Woody your double is up
You appear to be a much better judge than people give you credit for I am pleased for you ![]() |
|

Thanks Ebul, just home. I'm currently in good form. Thought Tommy most likely winner but 7/1 too big Gaytime. PF made Peregrine 5/1 to an 100% book but i said too big so 9/2 made plenty of appeal
Shame about Van Gaal knocked from pillar to post, lost £17 there Derby Semi Draw: 1 Gaytime 2 Rumble 3 Cafu 4 Tommy 5 Cable 6 Jet 1 Matt 2 Blitz 3 Don 4 Apollo 5 Backdoor 6 Peregrine |

Just no pleasing some people. Irish wont be happy until people are bled dry

Very surprised how well Farloe Blitz stayed on, still clear at the pick up. Must have been given his Wheatabix!

Nice double WOODY .. Bad night for me Offshore breaks for once and gets done at the 1st bend,.. DOH
... 2 GREAT SIMI/FINALS ..The 2 simi/final should be interesting to who gets to the 1st bend in front..most likely Blitz. |
|
By:
Even Columbo would not work out how Rio got to Farloe before the 3rd bend
|
|

As matt onwers paid for one box lol

Yes, worst luck for me that Deptford but Blitz was caught previous round. Okay, absolutely shot out last night but makes you wonder
|
|
By:
If he produces that run in the semis and final, I can't see him being picked up.
|
|
By:
Topped up £3.85 Peregrine at 12/1 to return an extra £50. Think he's a decent chance of reaching the final
|
|
By:
That's what we all said in the English Derby, Vinnie
|

By:
If Blitz keeps running like that he wins the Derby, nothing can lead him unless he makes a mess of the start and that rules out an awful lot of the remaining runners as their only hope is going around in front.
As for getting picked up in the previous round he was almost 2L quicker to the sectional last night and I would even question the 3:41 sectional the previous week as he didn't come away from 6 that night. I had him down as 29:51 being his limit looking at his sectionals at different parts of the track and he went a length quicker last night. Ballymac Matt was my impressive at all last night and I know Shane was not happy and worried by his finishing clock, many think he was not hunting it that hard up the home straight. Gutted about Offshore Bound, as I said about last week this new found early he showed the previous week was his undoing this week as well, he was in a brilliant pitch but it got him into awful trouble, lunatic didn't read the script, he was supposed to walk out and run through beaten runners to place. The more I think of it he more I think Blitz should be favourite, he leads everything off a level break and the draw will make zero difference to him for me which is huge with 11 railers left. Of the others I am surprised Cable Bay is still double figures and he looks value at that as like Blitz I would not worry where he is drawn. |

Ballymac Matt was not impressive (stupid prediction text)

is this still going on? what a lovely few weeks away.

Blitz needs to come out on a spring again to repeat his quarter final success. If anything gets near him, he will capitulate. Backed him for the 2016 English Derby again, though Lanza. Still waiting for your 100/1 coz you said only a mug would take 50/1

Out of interest gave you even considered that where he to win the Irish Derby he could be retired this year ?
|
|
By:
Not watched a single race or trial since the quattro final. Hardly watched any cricket either. Complete break this last month, but been trying to wind things down since rio's night. Had a chance to lay one at the sheffield comp via twitter but was on holiday with the kids (it was their time) and I really didn't want any big bets or the liability hanging over us when trying to enjoy the break. In truth, having just bought a house, it wouldn't be that wise to take a large bet without the funds to now be able to back it up, im fairly skint it seems and betting at daq horrendous.
Back to the irish... 12 dogs left...136% whats going on? ![]() Has much been matched this comp? Shocking % for a semi final stage on here for the 2nd biggest race in the uk. ![]() blitz, 19-oct-12, gonna be what... 2yrs 11months in the irish final. Like pf says...might retire if he wins, I hadn't thought of that...but i was looking ahead, going on he would be around 3yrs 7 months at start of the comp and that would be a big lay at these odds for this age of dog. Last year was his time if he was going to win it. |
|
By:
Never considered that PF, but think he might not win the Derby anyway. Lanza says 3yrs 7 mths, but dont think he's had too much racing anyway really?

Woody
Antepost £73 staked Returns: Cafu £178 - now 33/1 Taxes £150 Gaytime £147 now 8/1 Matt £125 - now 5/2 Peregrine £125 - now 12/1 Do you realise that you could have waited until today and used £66.89 of your £73 to guarantee the above returns on the four you've got left. What's more, you'd have enough left to buy me a pint in the Beggars Bush on final night. |

By:
Clouseau, Did you not recently describe Blitz as "a half decent sprinter who would be blown away on the run up by Blake"?
|
|
By:
No that was Tynwald Bish who i said was a half decent sprinter
And yes i said Blake would beat Blitz to the corner, which will never be proved either way now, however their sectionals to the corner are very similar all be it different years |

Ballymac Matt seems to have changed his style of running, showing more early these days but not really looking that strong like the 600yds he's been successful over dog. Trainer reported him "tired" after the quarters
As PF said, fast trial for Ballydoyle Honey at Cork. Plans are could be having another trial before bitches races Derby night and Night Of Stars. Better suited to that than tackling Derby type dogs. Wary she may come in season, though |
|
By:
Matt is fav on to win the derby Woody, if his trainer says the dog was tired after the q/finals he might be worth a lay,..According to ****’ spokesman Liam Glynn, “Gaytime Hawk now stands to be the firm’s biggest loser in the ante-post book on the Irish Derby having been supported down from 66/1 throughout the competition.”

Thanks Frank but think Matt could still reach the decider. Week's rest to help
Wales, you're very welcome to a pint and dare say your figures are spot on but I've had a good run at it, while other people have crashed and burned already |
|
By:
They've priced the first semi final all wrong for me, the second semi I would have Blitz fav and can't have Peregrine Falcon that short from his horror draw

Relative novice here when it comes to dog racing, but used to love it as a kid and have got back into it since living just around the corner from Shelbourne (moved to Dublin two years back).
Have been loving the Irish Derby so far. Just wondered what chance you experts give Save The Don of qualifying for the Final? |
