Heat 1 Great to see Vic in there but he can't be expected to perform 100% and I think Hot Pursuit will stake a claim for the Derby by winning this. Heat 2 Hawaii Kinsale has been brought along nicely, improved every run and is my outsider for the comp. Looks a to have a more than fair chance here. Heat 3 Dreadful race with all wanting across to the paint and Jet utterly uncompromising about getting there. Unlike his English Derby six draw there is huge early pace inside him tonight and I can't see him clearing the bend. Hope he qualifies though. I like Holycross Gerry a bit and he is my hopeful selection to take advantage of the inside draw. Heat 4 I don't under-estimate Glenanore and his great early pace but I don't under-rate Kereight King either, who may stay better. Great race and I hope TSR makes it through. Madison looks cooked to me, sadly.
Good luck all - dogs and punters. |

i was excluding Wimbledon in that case
anyway off soon, gl - don't forget to play the good thing in the last ![]() |

he was drawn trap 1 3 times last year PF and won them races shyte draw in semi missed and eliminated ,ran really well in last years english from shyte draws ,then got 4 in final and was a million ,hes drawn 4 4 5 6 last 4 races this year
![]() are you talking about jet ? |
By:
he was nearly killed last week at the 2nd bend
![]() |
By:
they said vic unlucky in paper other day ,yes unlucky to cut his foot, but how many chances does he need to win a big one ,if and
hopefully he does qualify tonight this must be by far hes best chance of winning a derby bar the don ,hes won nothing despite numerous chances ,hes the fastest dog in most comps he has entered but has not got the job done on several occasions, there must be a reason behind it .. |
By:
yes we're talking about Jet who got trap 1 all through the Joe Dunne at Shelbourne, trap 1 in both races of the Champion Stakes and the first round of the Derby [it was 6 times not 7 sry]
he then got 4,2,3,3 and then 1 again Derby Final night for the Invitation and then got trap 1 again for the Night Of Stars boy i'd love to own a really unlucky dog that's gets draws like that |
By:
In Vic's case, not easy at the very highest level. Been a bit like Boher Paddy but even more so. Hopefully, with consistent breaks, may strike gold this time.
PS, Nothing Simple not fast enough to catch a cold, imo |
By:
Nice one pf. The dog who nearly got killed at the second bend was Hot Pursuit! That won't happen tonight.
By:
Vic is as game as a pebble. To run as well as that with the injury he carries is a phenomenon. Another week to effect recovery - all is not yet lost.
By:
Droopys Jet gone.
By:
Great read with Isobel's pf - very brave she is. Ran well.
By:
TSR gets there again - he and Robert took full advantage of great draws but what a run from the "King". More to come? Needs to be inside Isobel's if and when they meet.
By:
Only know his derby runs PF tbh ,what ever luck he had certainly ran out tonight
![]() Kk Very impressive |

By:
Johnoo, Premier Fantasty wrote on here that Melodys Diamond was in season two weeks ago , have you heard if she is Johnoo ?
By:
i heard that she had a false season
By:
you are probably correct , because she ran too well tonight if she was over two weeks in season.
By:
a bitch won the coursing oaks some years ago she was 3wks in season which was highly unusual it depends on the bitch mostly they are ok up to 2wks

Surely, Melodys cant run in season, the dogs would go crazy. Hasn't she been supressed?
Very pleased Vic and Adler got through. Hope 300/1 Adler can go one better than Airlie Impact in the English Derby to produce my biggest ever win. Set to strip fitter and improve in the semis, still think Vic my best hope though. Glad Borna Gem qualified, too. Has been getting squeezed and has a squeak. Sad Madison never made it. Good break but couldnt hold his pitch early bends to show his impressive paces. Kereight King impressive and still fearing him, above all others. But in semis, slot wider still in coffin, early speed all over the place and needs to be on his toes |
By:
Think 150/1 Carrowgariff each-way could be a small sporting bet, considering he ran faster than Isabels, Melodys and Borna last Saturday. Although some of those not totally clear runs, Carrowgariff seems to be peaking, imo.
By:
why is Adler set to strip fitter now Woody?? they had the handbrake on so far? |
By:
Strip fitter how the **** would he know
Unless he had first hand info into the kennel ffs silly comment he had every chance to pull off a win Saturday ! this is poor heat on paper but I think there going To bit action from it Boy going to race up middle ish Two be slow away Three trap but as no pace to the bend Poor sugar fastest by a mile either go with them or cut straight over **** nose what's going to happen there to good not to grab 3 IMO kingsale go straight up ???! by watching he's races Robert well housed but does miss it now again Hard heat imo |
By:
could not really have wished for better from the draw - well maybe Sugar Ray further in but bar that it's nearly perfect for me

By:
any of the shops betting on the s/finals?...MY reading of the outright winner is KK his early pace is something else...but i hope im wrong, like woody i backed ALDER at 300/1 here a few weeks ago but he will need a lot of luck to win out. thers a few early pace dogs in K.K. race so you never know..outside Alder the best result for me would be melodys and hawaii..i live in hope

When coolmore kid open this thread back on the 26june 3 of the top ten in the betting still remain suger ray 20/1 K.K 16/1 and VIC 14/1..THE 3 look likely to made the final not bad when you concider over 100 greyhounds took part..not bad when you concider that some heads that i was talking to in shelbourne think that this was a poor year ..as for myself i dont think theres such a think as a poor irish derby.[ the best is yet to come]
