Fraser thought the same but he still made the semi final.
He was actually one of the first dogs i looked at backing at the backend of last year, think he was 66s or 50s but i missed the price luckily so left him alone |

The counts don't want an Irish winner anyway lads, the rules they play under are severely questionable, a trainer was done at Wimbledon couple of months ago after the oaks for administering a pain killer which may have "adversely affected the welfare of the greyhound". How can that be ?
Cost him over a monkey but cost future Derby's some of the best dogs from these parts. They admit that "GBGB Rules of Racing impose strict liability on the trainer" but at the same time go easy on persistent reoffenders within their sures. |

i think we will have a decent chance this year.
Kereight King Isabels Boy [although not sure we can claim him now] Ballyhill Sub Kisses For Cloda Priceless Sky Money Talks then others that may go Ballymac Vic Farloe Calvin Exocet Homeless Boy Judicial Ruling then if McKenna or Holland goes they'd have some right good chances too |

what would you give for those 11+ eske to be the 2 semi's pf?

Irish, a pain killer will cause a dog to run without feeling an injury and is therefore liable to do itself even more harm as it doesn't know the differnce and can't make a choice like a human can - think Richie Dunne having a steroid injection before the Bulgaria game afew years ago. Personally I think the rules could be relaxed and such meds used under veterinary supervision ie a certified reason, a date (eg it was given 3 days ago and not having any effect now) and minimal chance of exacerbating an exisitng injury.
However there is a problem with this too. It could be used to stop a dog. Suppose a dog is on a painkiller for a low grade persistent niggle. No welfare issues etc. Dog runs well when on the meds. This dog can be 'stopped' by WITHDRAWING the medication. And you can't take the trainer up for not 'doping' his dog then, can you? |

Irish's point is he cant be nice no matter what he promises. That post about Alien Planet was months ago. Back to block. Beware, he could turn and stalk anyone, at will!

Woody grow up, coming on here hyping up dogs or kennels when you seriously have no clue what is going on,
is in no way helpful is it ? CNS, most of the medication issues revolve around the vet giving the wrong info. They don't do it intentionally, but because it depends on the type of injury, weight , fitness and cell make up of the dog its effect is inconsistent as you rightly say. In the case I mentioned that was exactly the problem, you wouldn't mind if the trainer had history, or he hadn't travelled a thousand miles round trip, he got fined 600 when a persistent reoffender got done a grand. |

Irish Derby winning trainer Pat Curtin will be travelling to England today to launch his challenge for the 2013 William Hill English Derby.
Curtin is planning to give his four runners their first look at Wimbledon tomorrow and will stay over to give them another trial on Saturday. It will then be back home to put the finishing touches to the Derby preparation. His number one hope is Kereight King and he is backed up by last year’s quarter finalist Shelbourne Geoff, 2012 Produce Stakes winner Power Of God and recent acquisition Whizzing Around which only joined him after winning at Shelbourne on Saturday night. Said Curtin yesterday: “Kereight King has settled in very nicely. He had his tonsils removed but is in very good form again. We gave him just one sprint run but he has been swimming a fair bit and looks very well. I am happy with him. The other dogs are all capable of running well at Wimbledon”. |

Liam Dowling confirmed yesterday that his star tracker Ballymac Vic will be heading for England next week to have his first trial around Wimbledon in advance of the English Derby.
Said Liam, “we had a little problem with him. He got a cut on his shoulder from a bit of wire and it took us a while to get to the bottom of it. But it has come right and we gave him a gallop last Wednesday. We’ll give him a few more gallops this week and then head for England next week. “We’ll see how he handles the track before we make any more plans but the idea would be to give him a couple of trials around Wimbledon to have him ready for the Derby”. |
