Eastmead, it's the English gods who are overrated as per usual. There's every chance there could be more Irish dogs than English dogs in the final!

4/11 an Irish trained winner Happy

The two main Irish finalists, disputing favouritism, have done really well. Some said Ballymac Vic was lacking a yard up in his last Shelbourne competition and Droopys Jet seemed to be ruled out through injury until shortly before the start of this event. However, both have peaked at the right time and looks like being another memorable showdown, as it was in the Quarters. Jet came out on top there but that wasnt surprising, after he led. Both recorded identical splits and it's likely to be close again. This is the Derby final though and nothing, even rank outsider Airlie Impact, can be totally ruled out of the shake-up with any conviction.

Marvellous race in the pipeline!

Is it asking too much for Airlie Impact to do a Slippy Blue?

Like the 1990 winner, Airlie Impact hasnt been coming away for the duration but Slippy Blue got it right, bolting out, in his final and still got faint hope Airlie can do something similar. Only had £2.50 on him but at 159/1, £400 winnings would be my biggest ever return. The dream is still alive for Paul Young's Romford racer and looking for the 4.07 split he produced at Hove once Happy

Are you on the sauce this morning? Didn't Slippy Blue lead around? If Airlie Impact lead around i'll run down Oxford Street starkers FFS Laugh

Might back him for a top 3 finish @ 9/4 - can see him running on past some of them who don't lead

Dont think there has been better betting on the Derby, ever!

7/1 Sidaz Jack
9/4 Droopys Jet
9/4 Ballymac Vic
25/1 Airlie Impact
12/1 Bittles Bar
10/1 Screen Critic

94% over-broke!

Well done Sidaz Jack, Sir Charlie, 7-up and the English.

Sidaz simply wasnt going to let Ballymac Vic get passed and virtually the second best result for me, personally.

Thought my Airlie Impact ran a stormer and not like a 66/1 or 100/1 shot, as some suggested. If he had come forward just over a length more, i would have cracked a 159/1 winner.

Incidentally, Hills make Airlie 200/1 for the Irish equivalent, surely not but dont know if he's going over?

lol... woody.

66/1 was going to 100%,  expecting a slow start and trouble as 5 dogs were likely to be infront of him.

the dog ran well, given he was last away, badly checked on the first and third and had to run around vic, definitely made me sweat for a nano-second.

sometimes its better to be lucky than be good.Laugh
